worried

guys i’m starting to worry about a few things these days, this is a list I have. please add your own worries to this if you feel like it

  1. is getting sick from covid-19

  2. family and friends getting sick from covid-19

  3. income, I get a regular income from owning a part of a few friends business since they’re failing because of covid-19 scares

  4. with my second worry is that with diaper corporations laying off staff, will it affect diaper quality?

  5. global warming, when the ice caps melt its the end of humanity

  6. bad politics, seriously don’t get me started on this, no really dont

let me know your own worries here in this thread :grinning:

Just reading your post is remindful and inducing of worry.

I’m not going to focus nor dwell on my worries because that only makes the worry worse, and there’s nothing I can do to make a difference to any outcomes, so what’s the point in worrying?

Cross each bridge as you get to them.

I concur, if you worship worries, they worsen further.

  1. and 2. do the best you can to evade it and you might. It’s possible that we all will contract it sooner or later - in that case strive for “later” when ICUs, vaccine and/or medication are available. Focus on staying away from others, keeping your hands clean and always away from your face instead of worrying.

  2. and 4. We can’t tell yet how long the period will take, how devastating it will be for business, how politicians will react. But this is not the first crisis humanity faces, and in my opinion, there were much worse than this one. Supposing you’re US american, your administration seems to be starting subsidy programmes. We still have water, electricity, even internet and take everything for granted, while other people live in clay huts. My parents grew up in different parts of Europe after WW2 and laugh it off.

  3. Why should it be the end of humanity? There will be a lot of change in climate zones, habitates, weather etc., but there will still be habitable areas on Earth. Some humans will most probably survive.

  4. ok, I don’t. Although I’d like to point out that there have nearly always been some bad politicians, even worse ones than today.

We humans are embarrassingly bad at estimating risk and the media are even worse at selecting topics. You’re chances of surviving your any of your worries are quite good.

Yeah but in New York they’re sending in this black ops squad in bio hazard suits and they raid apartments and homes where people are infected. They shoot everyone in the head then burn the bodies because apparently if you die from Covid-19, you rise from the dead in three days and start eating the brains of the living. Once bitten, they get infected and that’s how the disease spreads. I know this is real because I read it somewhere on the internet. Well…the media is acting like something like that is happening… So’s the stock market…sigh.

do i agree. We cant avoid not to worry but we dont have to overthink things or be anxious too much.

I can’t help dwell on these because of the fact these things will affect my life in drastic ways, some are one includes my livelihood and income

Worries are not a bad thing, they show that u care for the ones u love.

but don’t let them get above your Head.

We can’t control everything that happens to us or others, that is something we just have to accept.

But what we can do, is giving our best to make our society a better one.

And to belief and trust in the other people.

Yes there are a few foul ones that still think Klima change is a lie and the C-Virus is some

conspiracy by all governments of the World or some crap. There will be some idiots

that fear and hate others because they are different.

But that is not the majority of people.

Also even this people have some smart ones that are only misguided and

they can maybe realize that they were on a false track. (you know the Movie American History X?)

I belief Humanity is good in its core. We will realize that we are strongest when we hold together,

maybe the C-Virus Crisis will indirectly help Humanity to see this.

Maybe it will take a few years more. But we will evolve.

Right now i don’t have much worries, and i know i can’t take yours away with this,

but maybe it can help you to withstand the wight of them a little better. <3

“Worry is interest paid on a debt that rarely comes due”.

  1. Covid 19, the chance of you contracting it is low, if you maintain the social distancing, keep your hands clean and off of your face.

  2. Probably most of us here have had our livelihoods significantly affected by the pandemic, this is why you plan ahead and save money… join the party you are not special or immune in this regard.

  3. Diaper quality… well try cloth, you are worried about the environment: less trees cut down, less land fill, less pollution from the delivery chain

  4. Global warming, ice caps melting… really? I’d say you can put that pretty far down on your list of worries, you wont have to learn to swim in the near future if ever.

You know what I am worried about… I think that the new James Bond movie was supposed to be out this month as well as the new Top Gun… what is going to happen there!

You need to pad up, grab a stuffie, put something good in your bottle like hot chocolate and find a great “little” movie to watch… forge the rest of it. We are all a captive audience right now, and this will not last forever. Hang in there Fangs, you’ll be fine.

That’s quite a list. I would suggest you shorten it by focusing on just one thing at a time, starting with the most important, which, of course, is number 4: Diaper quality.

So many people around the world appear to be oblivious to this problem. It’s obvious some kind of world wide conspiracy is going on that prevents people from getting accurate information about this very real threat. Global warming might end humanity soon, but think about how much worse the situation would be if you had to face the end in an uncomfortable diaper. (Makes one shudder!)

On a more serious note, I would suggest you stop being serious. OK, I confess, this isn’t an idea I came up with on my own. I’ve been reading a book by Tim Grimes titled “The Joy of Not Thinking - a Radical Approach to Happiness”. Self help books are a dime a dozen, but this one is a little different in that you can test his hypothesis almost immediately, and decide for yourself if it has a good chance work for you. Another confession: I’m not totally immersed in his concept yet, but I’ve been playing with it and it looks promising.

The problems you are facing are real, and you have to use your head in order to deal with them as best you can. But nearly all of the anxiety you feel comes from over-thinking. Here’s the author in a YouTube video. You need a minute and 15 seconds worth of patience to get past the seemingly typical, self-help drivel, and then it gets interesting.

don’t everyone have a list of worries these days?

just the alligator, "closest " to my boat… the rest can wait.

That’s a snappy reply

My worries are almost the complete opposite

I’m worried that nothing happens. This was the chance for the nation to get torn asunder. For greed to send the nation into collapse.

I thought property owners would continue to demand payments, leading to mass evictions and bankruptcies. Putting a massive strain on the banking sector that is already over leveraged again. Leading to banks failing and having a 2008 all over again, this time with no money or political will to bail them out again.

I mean there is still a chance for this to happen with everyone losing there jobs, and along with the loss of job comes loss of insurance, so bankruptcy will run rampant in the coming months.

I feel are leaders will throw another 2+ trillion dollars to prop up the banks. Facing down the very real likelihood of runaway hyperinflation the government defaults on the loans. In the coming years after this deficit spending is near impossible for no one want to loan us mass money, so programs that people rely upon get cut and people cant survive, but the bloat to the billionaire class will stay.

TLDR: I was hoping this could be a painful 8 years followed by real change, But I feel its going to just stay the billionaire class running are nation into the ground

It seems so. But I wonder if it’s possible to burn that list. Live day by day. Stress and anxiety will pop up, causing worry, but try to make decisions about how to deal with each problem that comes up, and add that problem to your list of problems you are dealing with, rather than a list of problems you worry about. Bad feelings don’t just disappear, but I really believe these feelings are made worse by overthinking them.

Worry about the things you can change - the rest of it is only going to bring you down.

my list is because of the covid-19/corona crisis when it goes so does all my worries

You can’t just sit at home worrying 24/7 until this goes away - that’s pointless.

Concentrate on what you CAN do, which is still a LOT - let’s face it, with the internet we basically have access to the entirety of human knowledge and the tools to create all sorts of amazing things without leaving the house.

What if this Coronavirus thing drags on for another year, are you going to waste an entire year just worrying about something you have zero control over?

What if something else crops up just as it goes away - because damn sure there’ll be other stuff coming along, even ignoring the obvious global financial meltdown due to the virus and the potentially awful consequences as it hits the less developed countries. There’s still war, famine, plague, climate change and the inevitable heat-death of the universe but hiding under the covers doesn’t do squat for anyone.

Yeah, I think we’re all beginning to accept that this virus is going to be a part of our world so we must find ways to continue on. There’s only 35 cases and 1 death in my area which contains 500,000 people so I’m still practicing with my band. We stand 6 feet apart but what the hell. Viruses come and go and we all die sooner or later. My generation, the hippie generation had the attitude of live free until you drop. I’m not suggesting that we should do stupid things like opening up the movie theaters, concerts and any place that puts us shoulder to shoulder, but sooner or later, we’ll have to go back to work. Life goes on within you and without you. Of course, John Lennon is dead.
