Wondering

I bet i’m putting this in the wrong thread

Every few days I watch Dr. Phil and quite a few of his programs he sends the family to a rehab building because they want to stop being abusive, alcoholic or some other problem.

I was wondering if a person really wants to stop wearing diapers (because they have no real reason to wear diapers) do they rehab building for something like that?

I could be wrong but I don’t think the population of people with that specific situation is nowhere near as big as the population of drug addicts trying to get clean. I wouldn’t think there’d be enough reason for said kind of facility. My guess is some kind of therapy would be the best solution for this.

I’m thinking if a person really wants to stop wearing diapers because they have no real reason to wear them they would…drum roll please…simply stop wearing them. I made the decision over 3 years ago to wear diapers 24/7 because I like to wear them. But, if I wanted to not wear them, I guess I’d just stop wearing them and go back to wearing Jockeys or going commando - which I often did.

If it was an obsession and it was interfering with their Life in a negative way, it possilbly makes sense to go to rehab.

But if is just a fetish, I think everyone could just stop (excluding the ones who need to wear out of medical reasons).

According to my counselor, I think they treat it like a compulsion. It takes work and adds stress to your life to get rid of a compulsion.

If it’s benign, like you need to clean the stove after every single meal, or you wear diapers in private every once in a while, it would be more stressful to get rid of the compulsion than to learn to live with it.

If you need to gamble/drink in order to function, or have an obsession with wearing just a diaper in crowded public places, then it is less stress to deal with the compulsion than live with crippling debt, chronic substance abuse or in jail for indecent exposure.
