You know those websites like aliba and madeinchina that have whole sale abdl diapers that are meant to be sold to companies? Well would it be possible for an individual to buy whole sale abdl diapers from there? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks
Yes, I do believe that you can purchase products through alibaba even though you don’t own a business/company. I don’t know for sure though as I’ve never done so myself.
I don’t have actual experience buying from wholesale, but I did take a look on Alibaba when I was browsing. While they have some items with small minimum order quantity down to a pack with really great prices, but the shipping option that they offer is not going to make it any cheaper than getting it from a local distributor if you are from NA/Europe.
You could if you want wholesale quantities.
If you think you are going to be getting the same thickness and quality as ABU / Rearz / Tykables etc just because they’re using a picture of those companies products you are in for a BIG shock.
You’ve probably seen that you can request samples, yes? Try that first.
Buying enough to fill, or part fill a container comes with additional issues/problems of transit and unloading and you may incur further charges. Then there’s the storage.
The issues with buying direct from foreign makers can build up and it’s usually best to use a knowledgeable middleman; or simply buy from folks who have already done the dirty work and then sell them through retail outlets ![]()
Otherwise, it’s all a bit risky and can more trouble than it’s worth.
That’s all only from my secondhand experience of working in a place which dealt with import and export and from talking to our clients who imported goods from China and who’d pop down to inspect the loads as they came in, filled with worry, so to speak (and they spent a lot time China making the deals and stating the specs, in pre-alibaba days).
And even if you only buy a pallet full, you’ve still got tax issues to consider.
I own a couple of stocks of Alibaba, I’m waiting for a larger downturn to buy more alibaba stocks
