I’ve saw a lot of talking about secondlife. Is it a good game? Should I invest in it? Let me know. I’m probably just a total bonehead and don’t know all the latest hot games ![]()
Well it is not new, more like very old 2003 I think. I thought its long dead, but apparently that is not the case.
Because I also read about it here…
I can’t say much about the game itself, I would say it is more about roleplaying, and creating an avatar, player interaction and so on.
Somehow it reminds me of the Sims games. I would still say it is more of a niche game, so no wonder you may overlooked it.
Years ago I thought I could make money off it, and maybe you can, but after playing it just bored me after a couple times.
I may have actually heard of it, but I can tell you for sure that it isnt that new. This is so many years old. Only ABDL game I know is called “Sofias Secret”
Yea, it’s not really a game, but there are games within it. SecondLife really give you a chance to let your imagination run wild. If you like sailing, there are some vast oceans between the islands and continents. Maybe you prefer taking a 747 between airports or driving a ferrari down the highways or race tracks. Maybe you enjoy scifi or Star Trek role play, there are places for that. SecondLife is unique because other than the ground you stand on, most everything else in the world is created by the people that inhabit it. So other than the general Terms of Service, there are very few restrictions on creativity. SecondLife is free to join, so why not try? Pro tip: Once you create your account from the web site, don’t bother downloading their client software, it has always been junk. Get what everyone else uses at firestormviewer.org
I joined Second Life in 2004 … ( Shippou Oud was my original character )
As the game has gotten older, support has gotten crappier and crappier to the point they now don’t give a ### about their user base.
Historic places such at the old Telehubs, and specially designed sims have been sold and bulldozed . ‘Privet islands’ are pushed hard, while public sims are ignored.
It is quite difficult to make Lindens ( money ) in-game now-a-days, so expect to be opining your real world wallet if you want to actually enjoy SL .
“As the game has gotten older, support has gotten crappier and crappier to the point they now don’t give a ### about their user base.” - I have only needed to contact support a handful of times over the past 9 years but they were always quick and professional.
“Historic places such at the old Telehubs, and specially designed sims have been sold and bulldozed . ‘Privet islands’ are pushed hard, while public sims are ignored.” - Not sure what you call public sims, but if this is mainland, I would say the opposite is true. A new continent was added last year for upgraded linden homes and mainland sims in general received a greater prim bonus than private estates.
“It is quite difficult to make Lindens ( money ) in-game now-a-days, so expect to be opining your real world wallet if you want to actually enjoy SL.” - I guess I missed out on the easy money season if there was one, still if you have the ability to offer goods or services that people really want, the chance to make money still exist. Just try getting into a gacha or shopping event on opening day.
I’ve never earned Lindens, but I know there are ways to do it.
I used to frequent Rocket City, but I haven’t been on in at least 6 months. I should stop by.
