I’ve recently starting accepting this side of myself and I need advice!
I’ve never worn before, but it’s always been on my mind. I want to dive right in, but I don’t know which diaper to start with. I’m looking for something kind of cheap, but good quality, and a brand that’s easily accessible from a drug store.
For all of the DL’s out there, I’m wondering— which brand did you start out with during your teen/adulthood and which brand would you recommend I try?
goodnites of course. Knowing what I know now, I would order something from northshore and have it shipped to a store so I could pick it up myself discreetly.
I started with depends fitted (now called protection with tabs) because they were the only thing I could get at a store as a 19 year old paranoid about my family finding out despite them being out of town for a week and a half while I had the house to myself. The experience was actually a bit of a letdown. My heart was pounding or of my chest, my arms were tingly, and my hands were shaking trying to put them on. I also had trouble using them, and they felt more like wearing a thick trash bag than what I had fantasized about.
Second diaper was molicare super plus, a middle of the road medical diaper carried by a local medical supply store the next time my family was out of town. These were everything I had expected a diaper to feel like, and I’m actually kind of glad I’d had the depends first to serve as a basis for comparison.
As for recommendations, what are you looking for and what are your price and purchasing preferences?
There’s almost no reason not to order online these days, and Amazon usually carries abena m4, tranquility atn, northshore supreme, and dry24/7 at reasonable pricing options per pack. If it’s fulfilled by Amazon it’ll come in a standard Amazon box (so discrete) and they also have shipping to Amazon Locker if you’re living with others and don’t want to have to intercept the box. I can also personally vouch for northshorecare, Abuniverse, and bambino when it comes to discrete shipping and decent diapers.
Omg I totally forgot about the makeshift double diapers i used to make!!! Wow, that brings back memories! Lol
Mine went:
Pull ups at 10/11yo (didn’t fit)
Double baby diapers at 11/12yo
Goodnites at 13
Depends at 14
Goodnites until, like, 18/19
Then… Abena? Don’t remember first adult diaper that I ordered online, but I did a LOT of research and believe I chose those first. From there I was hooked!
I recommend starting cheap and local. My go-tos are goodnites and CVS brand adult fitted briefs. If you’re looking to stay cheap but order better quality, go to vitality medical online store and buy a pack of Tranquility ATN. But for REAL quality, I recommend either Molicaire Super Plus, Abena M4 or Tykables Overnights. Bambino is a good brand as well and there are LOTS of great ABDL options, but for pure DL purposes, the above mentioned are ideal in my opinion.
It would be smart to order online. Thanks for that reminder!
I’m a little and a DL. I’d love one that feels like a ~real~ diaper and not like a “thick trash bag”. As for price, a brand for less than $30, but with a good amount of diapers.
Goodnites - whatever size I could find the biggest…which still wasn’t comfortably big enough (just skip over this phase, even if you fit they won’t handle enough)
Then First Quality
Then Depend Fitted Briefs (now with tabs brand)
I wear Tranquility ATNs with booster and occasionally will make an ABU or Crinklz order.
I started out with whatever my parents got me for my bedwetting. Which back then was goodnights before they had designs and held about twice as much. Then goodnights sucked and lost absorbency and I switched to Derpends. Then i got a job and started ordering from XP medical and just s snowball effect now its Betterdry/Crinklz.
My first adult diaper was a Depends sample of their tabbed brief that used to be sold in a single package. At the time I did not need diapers but just wanted to try them. Many years later when I started having involuntary leakage I first tried the Depends men’s pull-up style which proved to be no match for what I was putting out. I needed a full adult diaper to keep everything contained.
Which leads me to the second part of your question. After buying and trying several store brands, I have found the Certainty brand of tabbed briefs from Walgreens work the best for me. They will hold 1 good soaking (for what I release, YMMV) before they leak. On days and nights that I sense things are going to be more frequent and heavier I will double diaper to contain the heavy flooding. I’m now investigating what mail-order options are out there, but IMHO the best locally available off-the-shelf diaper are the Walgreens Certainty brand.
I recently got into diapers as well, my first one I ever tried was GoodNites. I loooooove them! They’re so soft, stretchy, surprisingly absorbent, and have a lovely smell when new. You can buy them at Walmart and they fit a lot of body types and sizes. I’m 5’5” weigh 157lbs, have a 37” waist, and 41” hips and they fit like a glove! They fit like bikini cut underwear and don’t give me a plumber butt which is nice because a lot of other brands do because the rise isn’t high enough. If you want a real abdl/adult diaper I would email Northshore and ask them for samples, they aren’t fancy but the diapers are very nice. Dotty the Pony was the first real diaper I ever got the hang of, those are super nice as well and have reusable tapes in case you mess up. Best of luck!
Swiped 80’s Pampers. First purchase was 1990’s attends. 3 TAPES each side !! Purge years. Then settled on Abena for awhile before finding ABDL diapers.
walmart has a lot of inexpensive and pretty absorbant diapers, a cheap way and good way to find out what u like as far as style and size. Plus if you are nervous about buying them in public i found that about 2 to 3 am there is hardly a soul in there on weekdays, weekend different story, sometimes there are behind diapers people have torn open pkgs so u can actually see size and thickness.
Sadly if you want cute diapers you are most likely going to have to pay a good amount. Though Crinklz are not THAT expensive and very good diapers. I personally have fallen hard for Northshores MegaMax diapers which are not ABDL diapers but are some of the best fitting and feeling diapers ive found even if they are just white
I started out with pull-ups just for urinary incontinence, specifically Always brand. They’re pretty good at keeping you feeling dry and are very discreet, but I’ve had leaks with them when I totally void on accident. I just got some proper adult diapers online, Tykables brand. They’re comfy but also huge and loud on me, not something I can wear out on the daily. If you need something for your everyday that’s mild, pull-ups should do, but at home diapers like Tykables or Rearz will treat you right.
I would take a guess at saying for my first brand I started out with is the Depend Maximum Protection. As for my first AB/DL diaper, I would guess the original Bambino Classico.
