Wetting bum area of diaper

I find it difficult getting my bum area nice and wet. Any tips?

Have you tried wetting while lying on your back and letting gravity do the work?

One way might be to point your thing down, if it isn’t already. This means the crotch of the diaper will get wet first, and the bum will get wet sooner, but also cost you capacity because you wouldn’t be utilizing the front of the diaper.

The other way is to simply get a diaper that wicks better. NorthShore diapers all wick very well, but emphasis on the Supremes. I’ve worn one before, and had the entire diaper be soaked, all the way up the the back waistband.

A third option is to simply get a higher capacity and higher quality diaper and wet it more. It might be that your diaper leaks when you sit before you get the butt wet because it doesn’t have good leak guards. Trying diapers like m4, megamax, LittleForBig, rearz, or crinklz might be able to achieve what you want.

I am actually wearing my first megamax now.

Actually I can never get the back side wet. I wear M4’s and BetterDry diapers. When I want to get everything wet I usually unfold the diaper and wet the rear prior to putting on. This also helps wicking.

Wet it lying down on your back, that’s the best way to make use of the full capacity.

as said point down and lay on your back, the feeling of the pee running between your legs and through the crack of your bum to the back of the diaper is great… even after wearing diapers for years I still enjoy it…

I also enjoy that, I guess my question is more for day time. I have no problem at night.

Don’t tape the bottom tapes as tight, make sure the diaper has a V channel, might doing the top tapes first then the bottom until you get the hang of things

I wear size L betterdry, can’t get the back wet either unless in bed.

Is it maybe because the diaper is not tight against the skin? I’m between two sizes so medium is rather tight and large comfy loose. Doesn’t leak though but it just doesn’t wick to the back while standing or sitting, and I always fold z firm V in the padding, point it down and tape the bottom tapes up.

Well, find a bed/sofa to lie down on, if you’re at home…

are people expecting to be able to wet the back of your diaper without lying down? Is that even possible unless you have a really loose diaper on?

Yes it definitely was possible with the old Euron diapers I had in 2005, or the abena xplus of 2003, but they all had more fluff and less SAP.

Works best with Molicare Maxis and L4s for that naughty 1980s wet bottom feel.

The specialist AB/DL nappies and Betterdry just have so much SAP that they swell rather than wick.

The Lille brand diaper inserts/boosters wick moisture pretty well. I find they allow fuller use of the available padding.

It’s SO true about the type of material the diaper is made of. If it is made of anything synthetic then you’ll have pooling instead of wicking. Some All-In-One (AIO) have a “microfiber” insert and they do not wick well at all. Even if you lay down and wet, even massaging the wee towards the back, it will eventually pool towards the middle of the diaper when you stand up.

Usually, disposables are made with cotton/paper fabric. These generally wick pretty well. Still, I will lay on the floor/couch/bed while weeing and allow/guide the fluids to the areas I desire/need them to be. Then, they generally stay there.

Cotton diapers are the best !!!

Depends on the diaper. try Moliere Super Plus if you want the wet rear experience.

A thin nappy can allow the rear padding to be used, though you might only get one decent wetting out of it. Feels nice though…

If I am at home I use my bathroom counter and recline back with my legs on the counter and head towards the tub

Or I just bend my needs and incline back while wetting, which helps gravity to put the pee towards the back of my diaper

Don’t want to over wet it then it leaks
