I’ve been wearing 24/7 for over 3 years for fun. Today is my last day of being quarantined after testing positive for Covid about 2 weeks ago. Trust me when I say wearing my diapers during this Covid ordeal was a God send. Today is also the 3rd day since this virus entered my life that I have been back to wearing my lace panties. They also have a really calming feeling for me.
If you’ve been fortunate enough not to get this virus, I suggest you continue being careful. My wife and I both had it; and, we have no idea where we got it. My wife wears a mask everywhere she goes, which isn’t to that many places, and uses sanitizers. I simply lead a pretty solitary life (that’s what old people do) and on the few occasions I had been out, I also wore a mask. In the past 2 weeks I’ve lost about 15 pounds. I could stand to lose another 10 pounds; but, that’s about it. I’ve just lost my desire to eat and have cut way back on what I eat at meals. I also have no desire to snack - which is, I think, a good thing.
Anyway, I just thought I’d mention how much comfort wearing my diapers and lace panties has brought me during this experience.
Oh yeah, a bit of a funny almost happened. The day I was tested, the doctor at the drive thru testing site insisted I go to the ER. I have a lot of underlying conditions and he wanted me monitored for a while. I’m 75, a heart patient, an insulin dependent diabetic (use an insulin pump), have hypertension, and have stage 3b chronic kidney disease. My oxygen level at the time of testing was 89%. So, there I am in the ER and the nurse assigned to me said she wanted to get my temperature. Then she said she was going to take it rectally. I didn’t protest; but, I’m thinking I guess I’ll be outed to her with my diaper wearing. What I did say was that between quad bypass surgery, cancer surgery, and all the other times my body has been poked and prodded I’ve never had my temp taken rectally. About 1/2 hour later she said she had decided not to take my temp rectally. I kind of wished she had. :ROFLMAO:
(In most cases) I don’t see any reason for rectal temperature taking in adults. It produces hygiene issues, patient dignity is hampered and it takes a long time relative to an infrared measurement.
Frankly I’d not have been surprised if the clinician was chewed out. Because that was a stupid idea.
I hope you feel better soon if you’re still under the weather. Glad diapers brought you comfort. I hear the body aches and fatigue can be killer. It sounds really nice to not need to go to the bathroom feeling like that
Thanks. I’m about 90% back. The biggest issue is how easy it is to get tired doing things that never made me tired before. But, my understanding is that could take a good 6 months to get back to normal.
The procedure for rectal temperatures is still in training manuals. I wouldn’t be surprised if most nurses don’t start their careers with wanting to put it into practice just to avoid wasting the time they spend having to memorize it.
Sorry to hear you caught Covid. Wish you you the best in your recovery. My wife has underlying conditions so we have been very careful in our behavior during the pandemic. We’re also in the elder category.
I’ve been using diapers and panties as a coping mechanism for the restrictions we have been following.
I have to wear pull ups if i travel to town and go shopping, get my hair done etc since I most likely can’t wait until I get home if an urge occurs but I’ve ordered some adult incontience diapers so when they arrive, I’m planning on going 24/7, so I no longer have to chance it each time i go out and i can finally be comfortable.
