I’ll put it simply…in the short time that I have been a member of this site my life has gotten outrageously better. The before and after I truly have no words for. So thank you @Moo for everything you have done for me and all of us! And I think I speak for all of us here on ADISC.ORG when I say to consider this the last plea from us…we NEED this site. There is no other way to put it other then the fact that we NEED this site. It has helped so many people and we just NEED it. Surly there is someone who can continue to upkeep the site. We just ask that you continue to search for support as this site supports US.
I wouldn’t count on it. The last update appears to be a final nail in the coffin. The bar has been set arbitrarily high enough to ensure that any kind of preservation or succession does not happen. Plan for the worst, save everything you can, and never keep it in one place again.
Still would hope that a community project might be able to take it over, but I am afraid that we need to move somewhere else or hope for someone to make an alternative.
Its already gone. No point in hoping anymore. Even in the best case scenario, it’s already been stated that the user data, the 25 years of history, the posts and articles and stuff here that actually matters, is going to be withheld and destroyed regardless of any sale or transfer of ownership. It was already decided probably months or years ago.
This is the saddest part… loosing so much content is heartbreaking. I’ve dug in and saved some very personal posts, but when ADISC goes, it will all just be gone.
New communities are popping up and we’ll all have to start over. I wish there was a way for the old content to remain archived and accessible as an opt-in. No updates, just a searchable archive in its current form.
