It’s a well known fact that most ABDL diapers are produced in China. I wonder what effect the coronavirus has been having on production and when we’ll start feeling the effects in the U.S. I have to imagine that these extended factory shut downs will ultimately lead to a shortage, so now might be the time to stock up on your favorite diapers. I’m hoping that people more knowledgeable than me might be able to chime in here and give us a status update.
There is already shortages happening on different products and since diaper manufacturing is scheduled months or a year in advance due to limited factory’s producing diapers for different manufacturers. I try to keep a month of reserve stock as a just incase but if the production runs dont start up again soon that may not be enough.
we may see shortages but it all depends on how bad the virus infections spread and how long manufacturing and shipping is stopped, the biggest concern will be food and supplies if people panic and start to over buy.
Well I don’t think Northshore is affected so for now I’m fine lol.
I reckon it’s Mostly affected by companies outsourcing their main material through other countries
We have many diapers made in the EU … however I think the materials are coming from China . There may be large shortages in supply in 6 - 12 months the way the fear mongering is going .
This might be a question worthy of a thread of its own, but I’m really curious how Thrust Vector (maker of BetterDry and Crinklz) was able to successfully move production from China to Germany. I have been really impressed with the quality and performance of their diapers lately. I wonder if they are still sourcing the raw materials from China or if they have local suppliers for those as well. It would be really fascinating to hear their story.
A few like dry 247 switched to US factories however almost all the raw materials for many things we use are chinese. Luckily new cases are starting to recede in china so things will be back to normal soon. Their working class and our working class like myself doesnt like being off work with no income. Unless the bills would take a break too then it would be all good.
There are delays for sure in China at businesses and the ports. We have a good supply of MegaMax to handle significant delays. We’re still waiting for confirmation that our brand new MegaMax batches have made it onto the ship which should be any day…Cross our fingers. They were produced before Chinese New Years but got held up in shipping as the factory stayed closed for longer than usual.
dont pop the air bubbles in packaging??? HHEEEHE
As far as I can tell, the impact of the virus on Chinese factories has been minimal, and the Chinese government has a number of policies in place to ensure that production is working properly. During the epidemic, the diaper factory I work with, Fujian NEW YIFA, supplied me normally again, for which I am grateful.
i cant see why there would be shortages on diapers, I used to work in a plant making diapers and the plants ran 247/ 12hour shifts in rotation,
we had i think at this plant, 3lines of baby diapers and one line of pull ups, as manchines arent the same for pull ups,
The amount of brands and usa/ off store brand chains including some reg more known brands, i have seen it all,
its like When people in our city keept Mass buying TP¨\ this /i worked for them too because they own allot of similar plants , diaper tp ect
Funny because they are the largest of places that make tp, and its quite commical how many pallets we would make in a night and how much off site storage it went to in the other building over , that also ran 247/ 12hour plant
Shortage /covid is just another excuse to hike up the already hiked prices on stuff, oh nevermind i see this is a bumped up post from ages ago
Another issue is the shipping I’ve been waiting for ABU to restock and I finally heard back from them stating they are waiting for shipping containers to show up within the next month if nothing happens less just hope ![]()
