The Diaper Market, forecast and ABDL

Boring alert.

Every week or two there are new market forecast reports put together by business analysts; they sell the reports to investors and existing diaper manufactures so that they can plan, produce, launch with knowledge and forecasting etc. The adult diaper market is a damn good one to be in right now, as long as you know how to run a business.

I’ve read dozens of these report samples (I never buy the actual full report) and for the first time I see two new players being included as competitive diaper manufactures.

Leading Key players of Diaper (baby and Adult Diaper) Market are:

Essity AB
Unicharm Corporation
Kao Corporation
Procter & Gamble
Kimberly-Clark Corporation
Svenska Cellulosa AB
Abena UK
Principle Business Enterprises
Tykables
Rearz Inc

Global Diaper (Baby and Adult Diaper) Market was valued at USD 60.71 Billion in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 102.70 Billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 6.76 % from 2019 to 2026.

Who cares?

I find it to be VERY interesting that I am seeing ABDL show up more and more in these reports, and now I am seeing Rearz and Tykables show up. It’s important because it means ABDL is having a noticeable impact in the market and it means that ABDL WILL get more awareness and publicity over the next several years.

Just these past two years alone have seen a lot of change, nearly all online medical diaper supplies are now selling ABDL diapers or making their own ABDL style diapers and Amazon has tonnes of ABDL items.

It means that today 1 out of 10,000 people are aware that they make adult diapers that look like baby diapers; tomorrow it means 1 out of 5,000 people will be aware. With awareness comes understanding and more customers. I myself only got into ABDL when I randomly stumbled upon rearz.ca and realized that they made adult diapers that look like baby diapers which are meant for people to wear for fun and not necessity.

I know there are a lot of nay sayers “ABDL will never be a thing”; but I’m a bit more optimistic that the ABDL market will continue to grow, expand, and become more aware.

This is good for us because it might change the way people talk about us; maybe change “disgusting diaper freaks” to “those weirdos” … big difference

If there’s a market and millions to be made then rest assured that yes, someone will try to go to market with ABDL. I mean big players with money behind them for actual marketing, investment, return. 100 billion dollar market will not be ignored.

Thanks for sharing this. It’s nice to see some data on it. While I don’t think the market is suddenly going to cater to the ABDL community - it does show that it is a piece of the pie. If anything it will show other companies that there is a need for useful products that actually perform - and that people who are IC are willing to purchase from ABDL companies to get it. I’m optimistic that it could influence the direction of the market.

I think you’ll see a continuation of the overlap between medical retailers like Agecomfort delve into the abdl market. As I posted earlier this week they are producing two new printed diapers in stripes and lavender. These can easily be for the Abdl folks but nicely dovetail into the growing incontinence market.

Conversely, Rearz has created a straight medical side web business for the Elite line. Pretty easy to attract both types of customers in the online world without confusing or putting off the no. Abdl aware crowd.

to a lesser extent ..

Thrust Vector ( Crinklz / BetterDry )

Strom Holdings ( ABU )

Forsite Health ( Forsite )

Bottom Half Group ( Bambeno and related )

Agreed.

I think in the last 10 years manufacturers have realized just how big the AB/DL diaper market is.

At the same time, those who have incontinence are seeking better quality diapers and open to AB/DL prints. Quite the phenomena but I gather this mostly by what I read from the IC on here. I think they are more inclined to crossover to AB/DL prints when they see them offered on medical supply websites.
