Started to wet in my sleep

Im a DL who has been wearing on and off when wife is not around. She just started working a new job away from home 2 weeks on / 4 weeks off. That means 2 weeks of 24/7 and 4 weeks off with some occasinal wearing. Recently theese last days I have gone to bed in a dry diaper and woken up soaking wet. I dont remember letting it go at all. Is it possible that my body/mind is getting to used to beeing diaperd at night that I relax so much makeing it "natural" to pee in my sleep? I might be somehow guily here. I have been practicing in peeing while laying down in order to let it flow easyer, and I have been drinking alot of fluids before falling asleep right afterwards. Right now Im not sure if I dare sleeping without a diaper, and Im not sure if my wife will be happy about this. Anyone else who have found them self suddently peeing in sleep ? Im a little excited, but also little scared at the same time.

Happens to me a lot.

Never had an accident when not protected.

For me, it’s an optimal situation which I’m very happy with.

I always used to get up once in the night to wee anyway (ever since I was a kid) and now sleep through when wearing a nappy and wake up wet.

It’s either that I wake, wet and don’t remember or my brain knows that it’s OK to wet in my sleep when I have a nappy on.

I’ve been wearing to bed for close to two years now. I’d say about 1/3 of time I will wake up wet and not recall. The other times I will wake up, wet, and go back to sleep. As of now, I’m pretty much planning on being diapered every night. My girlfriend knows I’m DL and is fine with it. She also diapers me if I ask her too. If your wife knows you’re a DL that’s a plus, otherwise you might be in for a bit of a discussion.

After some time, it is possible for the brain to “un-potty train”* ( wake up just enough to urinate and go back to sleep )* .

This has been reported in these forums by many others. Once bed wetting starts, folks have reported that it can be difficult to stop it.

Happens to me all the time. Honestly, I actually can’t sleep without a diaper on, because my brain/bladder are so conditioned to wearing at night that I always have that “need to pee” feeling, even when I don’t actually have to go.

I’m trying to get that point rn. I’m on my 4th night wearing diapers right now. How long did it take you to get to that point?

Many it’s probably different for different people but I probably spent three straight months in diapers every night drinking water before bed before I would actually have an accident then it scared me So I quit doing that

But I would be careful when I wear diapers to bed now there’s very little possibility of me waking up drive somehow or another if I don’t wear hi almost never wake up wet I’m not sure how that happened but it’s weird it seems like your system knows when you’re wearing diapers so you barely wake up and pee

Alright just been wearing mostly at night. I’m just trying to bedwet again. Used to be a problem when I was kid but now I kinda miss it. It’s a nostalgic thing for me.

You could end up permanently bed-wetting … be careful .

Yeah I understand the risks. Just a nostalgic thing for me. I like the accidents.

Yup

I appreciate the concern. I just want the feeling of having a accident. If it cause permanent bedwetting then that’s on me and I understand that.

So unpotty training is possible?! I heard it was just a myth

Someone can correct me but I was pretty sure if you’re continent you can’t actually permanently become a bed wetter. I’ve been wearing every night to bed for years and never have I woken up without remembering if I’ve peed or not. I either end up holding it until morning or waking up during the night and going.

And if you are able to pee without conscious thought as you sleep and you’re continent, shouldn’t it be easy to revert it anyway? After all there’s no underlying conditions.

You still have control but your bladder muscles are loosen. Everyone is different but that is overall perception l have gotten from other forum sites. Which to a sense can make someone go in their sleep if they bladder is too weak to hold the urine in their sleep.

Happened to me before , im a DL and was wearing for some time and once i wet while asleep , i woke up while wetting my diaper , was a bit shocked and i stopped wearing for a while after.

What you said is absolutely true…

…you see, if you become a bed-wetter you are no longer continent. By definition, a bed-wetter is nocturnal incontinent. —So a continent person cannot be a permanent bed wetter, as that would mean they are not continent. :yum:

But seriously, SweetPrincess, I believe a continent person can become incontinent at night with enough practice and effort. How do you practice if you are asleep? Well, that is kind of hard to explain. But if you drink a lot of water before you go to bed, at some point you will have to wake up to pee. If when you do, you just let go and then go back to sleep, there is a point when this becomes more semi-conscious, and even later perhaps unconscious behavior.

I have experienced this not in a permanent setting, but it has happened on occasion. It has mostly been when wearing a diaper. And truly, only when I am wearing regularly for a long period of time. And then it has never been every night.

Also, I have never done this intentionally, it was just a byproduct of wearing and using for a lengthy period of time.

As I go through periods of wearing 24/7 and also 8/7 and other times not at all, it has never been something I have done long enough to see if it might actually become a permanent thing. Nor would I want it to.

But I testify that you can subconsciously wet your diapers when you are asleep, even if you were otherwise continent. For this has happened to me enough times to think it wasn’t some sort of weird, quirky experience.

As I said before, this has normally only happened when in a diaper. If I stopped wearing, even after I may have wet unconsciously while wearing, it stood also. Kind of like the subconscious brain makes the connection with wearing a diaper, okay I can just go, and if not, I am supposed to wake me up to go to the bathroom.

I cannot say that one would ever become permanently incontinent if you don’t have a physical reason that causes it. But there are members here and elsewhere that have reported this has happened. Because I have experienced it on a temporary and occasional circumstance, I think it is possible.

However, as I see it, I have too many other things that I do, that any temporary pleasure of waking up wet in a controlled situation, would never be worth being incontinent all the time even just at night as an intentional thing.

As I am not incontinent, I can’t speak directly for those who are, but I would think that there would have to be so many occasions that, even if you really really liked diapers, that you would not want to have this at all times, or even limited to night.

I often go on weeklong hiking trips in the wilderness, and wearing diapers every night would be a real problem. Although they don’t weigh too much in your pack going in, the used diapers weigh as much as you would have used them, and they aren’t something you can dispose of there. Pack it in-pack it out. And what could be discrete in a day or even two journey, would become obvious to others after a few days on the trail.

…Now if I go in by horse, that gives me a bit more packing options.

sorry, I digressed.

But just know that I do think it is possible for a continent person to become a bed-wetter, but I never would recommend it.

There are too many other aspects of life to enjoy besides just diapers and instead of being an enjoyment, they become a burden.

Like many others have said, it takes a few months. I’m 24/7, and I realize that I’m not fully “un-potty trained”, however, my bladder muscles/brain are so conditioned to wearing a diaper that I can’t hold it for very long, and I do “leak” if I don’t wear.

I’m trying to get there. I have my diapers set for next 3 months. How do you like being 24/7?
