Snuggies ran a huge advertising campaign all week on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook. #SnuggiesMystery Most people guessed day one that it was a new diaper.
Perhaps just as important as the new diaper is the fact that they dramatically slashed prices on the regular Snuggies to $95/case. This means that they now sell, by a fair margin, the cheapest ABDL diaper on the market, and it’s a quality product.
I’ll have to give the new product a try. If they’re doubling the capacity, then they’re in a real competition with Bambinos and similar “premium” diapers.
so are the overnights and the S.Ex. the same diaper except for the print? The web site doesn’t state overnight capacity, but the S.Ex. is shown at 135 oz (which is rather insane)

WOW. And it shows freeship to anywhere in the USA too! that is insane. Wish I had more room to store more diapers… I hate to turn down a deal, especially one THAT good. Probably won’t last very long either.

I think you misread me. My point was that, because it is branded as a BDSM diaper, it’s probably not something ABDLs will race to buy, even though it’s a perfectly good diaper. The branding seems like an odd choice to me. Whereas there’s no doubt many ABDLs enjoy babyish diapers, I’m a bit skeptical that the audience for the S.Ex diapers cares about the packaging and the name. Assuming they don’t, then branding specifically for that audience doesn’t actually broaden the appeal, but instead limits it by scaring others away.
well, I just went to bambinodiapers.com to compare prices on their totaldry plus. I normally wear those to work M-Th, and Friday is my Waddler treat day. TDP were MUCH cheaper, but the gap just got really small. But I see TDP are still out of stock. If the waddlers are going to stay in stock at that price, I’ll definitely be switching to them for my wear-to-work diaper.

I would be very interested to hear their reasoning on this one. Perhaps it’s a lack of imagination, but I have a hard time believing that there is an untapped market for plain white diapers for extending BDSM scenes that outweighs the market for plain white diapers within the ABDL community generally. They’re making an explicit choice in how they’ve branded this product to market it to a niche that I’ve never once seen anyone ask about.
That said, it’s easy to play Monday morning quarterback, and they’re the ones who’ve made this decision with money on the line and presumably feedback aplenty. They’re probably seeing demand for this coming from somewhere we’re not.
I, too, would love a peek behind the veil to see how this is a good business move. I’m sure it is or they wouldn’t have taken the risk. It would just be neat to see a bit of the marketing research.
I wouldn’t buy this product because I don’t appreciate the packaging/branding. But that’s just my small-mindedness speaking, I suppose 
shrug The BDSM community might look at us the same way as we look at them… we’re not any more special than they are. Snuggies is just tapping into another adjacent / overlapping market, that really in all honesty, is probably bigger than we are. Make one product, sell to two markets, that’s just smart business.

The point I was making - summed up in the two sentences that immediately followed the sentence you chose to quote - is that I’d love a peek at the marketing research. It would be neat to see, don’t you think so?
I’m not too interested in market research, but it might be an interesting curiosity to see. More for where they got their data than for the actual data itself.
Lol a whole week… In terms of advertising thats a very… VERY small ammount of time, most companies advertise for months before releasing a new product. I was on their website numerous times in the past week and there wasnt one thing about a new diaper the only place that had even a hint was their twitter page and by the way having people guess what they are doing is not advertising its a way to incubate rumors and create buzz. So like i said they dropped it on our head, and i would say the same even if they said they were releasing a new design in a week.
So are the se.x ones that come in the black bag the same as the original model? Or the same as the overnight model? (Obviously excepting the graphics)

I’m sure it’s been brought up before, but isn’t it great how much variety we have in terms of diapers nowadays? I remember just getting into the community, and all that existed as far as I remember were bambino’s first printed design, as well as ABU cushies. But now we have all these awesome new brands and prints!
