Sleep wetting

Tips on setting my diaper in my sleep

Auto correct. Wetting not setting

I been trying to get to the point that I just sleep through.

But I seem to always wack up.

Maya advice for What It’s Worth.

Is to commit to wearing a diaper at night.

When you need to go, go in your diaper. I find that length fat on your back with your legs bent is the easiest position to do this laying down.

Eventually your body will get used to this and give bless morning but will still wake you up to go.

Then at some point you will start not wanting up. This is the point of decision making. If you continue from that point you will be a bad wetter. Or you can shop wearing. And you body should convert back.

I hope that is what you are asking. And it helpful to you.

Hugs

A suggestion from someone who doesn’t actually wet in their sleep. But, this makes sense to me. Drink a LOT right before going to bed. You will undoubtedly wake up in the middle of the night with the urge to pee. Don’t get up. Just lay in bed (back, side, stomach - I doubt it makes a difference) and at some point I’m sure your bladder will insist on letting go. Let it go at that point. Do that regularly and at some point you will overcome the inhibition about peeing in bed. I suspect you will most likely continue to wake up with the urge to pee; but, you will be able, with practice, to just lay in bed allowing yourself to pee without fully waking up and falling asleep again quite quickly. To actually pee WHILE sleeping is probably something reserved for those who are ic as they don’t experience the pressure on their bladders that wake the rest of us up. Again, I don’t experience this issue so this is just educated guesswork on my part.

Commit commit commit… diaper up to go to bed, a good overnight diaper , if you wake needing to pee then pee do not get up, do this all night every night sooner or later you will be able to pee with very little waking up and really fast back to sleep I don’t know if you can reach the peeing while asleep stage or not.

Drink a six pack of Sierra Nevada before bed. Problem solved. After a few nights it’ll become automatic.

.

Yes it does … laying on your side or tummy increases the chances it will leak out the top or sides. Diapers that have undersized guards will leak out the sides no matter how you are lying.

I’m surprised nobody has come screaming into the thread about this yet, but training yourself to wet in your sleep is probably not the greatest of ideas. What happens when you travel, visit a friend, go camping, or fall asleep while taking public transit? It’s much better to just get used to wetting while laying down in bed so that you can wake up–>pee–>go back to sleep again. If you can do it with minimal fuss or fanfare, you probably won’t remember waking up for it half the time anyway.

No, it’s better to just stay hydrated throughout the day. Drinking “a LOT” just means you’ll feel bloated going to sleep, and probably pop wide awake with a painfully full bladder. Ideally you want to remain in a state where you can drop right back to sleep.

It does matter. The least likely to leak position is best since leaks will often cause more inhibition towards using the diaper while in bed. Also, having a full bladder is just as likely to make it more annoying and hard to go as not. If you want to train yourself to let go, it’s better to do it when there’s not a huge urge so that you can feel the muscles and concentrate on relaxing them appropriately.

From my origin thread “Confessions of a British DL” here’s how I achieved night-time wetness, but only with a nappy on:

Happily, I now wake with a wet nappy nearly every time I wear one to bed, with no memory of having wet myself on purpose in the night.

I would like to reassure you that it can be done without causing any physical or psychological injury to yourself!

It’s a multi-step thing that took me a few years to achieve. When it happened for the first time I couldn’t believe it.

I would always go to bed in a dry nappy.

Most days I would wake up dry, have a morning wee in my nappy and then take it off when I got up.

Sometimes I would wake in the night needing a wee. I would let go into my nappy and go back to sleep. My usual night nappy was (and is for the moment) an Abena L4.

One morning I woke up and felt like I was wet but had no memory of waking in the night. I did not have my morning wee but got up and took the nappy off first to check. It was definitely wet. I was so excited that this had happened and felt all tingly.

I wore again the next night with no special preparation of any kind but it didn’t happen.

But then it started to happen more frequently.

I believe I have now trained my brain to realise that it’s OK to wet in my sleep but only when I have a nappy on.

I didn’t think it was possible, but (looking back) here’s how it happened:

First, you have to be comfortable with wetting yourself in a nappy whilst awake sitting or standing. The best way to achieve this is not to hold everything in until the last minute when wearing before bursting to simulate a gushing wee accident (flooding) as this actually trains your bladder muscles to hold on tighter. Just relax and let it go when you have one on.

Next, you don’t need to drink gallons of water at a time as this can make your stomach uncomfortable. Rather, just keep pleasantly well hydrated. Drink sips little and often and always just let go when your bladder first feels the need. At the very beginning you may need to stand in the bathroom to be able to do this but will soon be comfortable doing it anywhere.

When you are so comfortable in just “letting go” in a nappy sitting or standing, you can try lying down.

Again, contrary to what I thought at first, the best way to get going is not to drink lots of water and lie down holding it til you are bursting. That just causes pain and discomfort.

Do keep well hydrated, but just relax and try to let go rather than pushing. Sometimes lying in silence helps. Sometimes a particular sound or piece of music may help. If it doesn’t work at first, you may have to stand or sit up, wee, and lie down again.

Part of the issue is trusting the nappy not to leak. I found that putting a bed pad underneath helped as it stopped my brain from worrying about leaks subconsciously.

When wearing to bed, adopt the same tactic. Don’t go to bed on a full bladder or holding in the hope that you will wet yourself. You will just be uncomfortable. If you need a wee at ANY point, just let go, even if it is only a little bit. If you hold it it will reinforce the notion that you shouldn’t be letting go.

Whether you need to wee before going to sleep or wake up needing one, just let go when the feeling takes you.

One morning you may wake up to find that you have had a little accident for real.

Don’t expect results overnight, but I hope that the above helps anyone who would like to have the experience of waking in a wet nappy without becoming fully incontinent or waking in the night to wee.

It has one side effect- the best night’s sleep ever while staying well hydrated

I would love to pee overnight but I am too stressed about my plastic pants leaking. I am a side sleeper so I know that is going to be a challenge anyway. I have tried several different types of plastic pants but all of them leak when I am on my side! If I could be confident I would stay dry I could let myself go.

This is my NIGHTMARE.

I’m a bona fide bedwetter (never fully dry), and OAB is threatening my days now. This has made it so I can’t even road trip or overnight at a friend’s place. My days are scheduled and my night has a set drinking time frame that I cannot ignore, or else.

You think you want this now but it’s eventually gonna cause problems. For starters, what if it spreads to ALL sleep? In the car? A houseboat? If you fall asleep on the bus, unprotected?

Consider the risks before you commit.

I Like to pee in my diaper some before going to bed and drinking at least 32 oz of water. Wake up once or twice barely notice and i release and im right back to sleep. Rarely wet enough to get the sheets wet. I wear a rearz , atn, or northshore at bedtime.

3 of the 4 days I wore this week I woke up wet. I know I woke up to do so but I am a heavy sleeper and can wake up and not remember that I woke to pee. When I want to wet during the night I stay well hydrated during the day and drink lots of water over the hours leading to sleep. The more tired I am before sleep the better.

It took a while of wearing almost every night before this started to happen and now it depends on how much I drink and how well I sleep but I would say it happens about half the time I drink enough to have to pee at night. I have had no issues with unwanted accidents and I still wake up when my bladder is full.

Actually wetting in your sleep is something that is risky to encourage, once you get to that point it can be hard to reverse. Wearing frequently at night is a good way to get your body used to it and for most it takes a while to get used to wetting in bed. It is a good idea to not do this every single night though and breaks in wearing are good so you dont go too far and cause problems with accidental wetting at night.

I second this. I wake up in a wet diaper not remembering when it happened.

I seldom wake up dry

I don’t know where or how I developed the subconscious signaling and in some ways I’m glad I have it and others not so much. If I go to bed in a diaper that’s already wet, I’ll continue to use it all night without ever waking. If the diaper is dry, I’ll wake before peeing and for me, that’s the preference. Part of my erotic thrill from diapers comes from that awesome feeling of hot piss spreading through my crotch. I miss that if I sleep through it.

The good news is that I wear diapers for pleasure, not necessity, so there are more nights when I’m just wearing panties and a nightgown and in that case I wake up before I wet myself. Maybe once a year I have a dream where I’m wetting a diaper (when in reality I’m not) and wake up just as I’m beginning to wet the bed. So generally, only wetting when I’m already wet is a good thing.
