removing cloth layer from drynites

So drynites are one of my favourite things to wear but I’m not a fan of the cloth layer on the outside, and I noticed that when I wear them the cloth sort of comes off on the top.

I figured that I could just cut the cloth layer off but I noticed that a lot of it is attached to cloth parts of the diaper and there are elastics on between the cloth and plastic layers. I’ve seen quite a few pictures with people wearing drynites without the cloth layer so I assume a fair few people do it.

I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for the best way to do so without ruining them.

Start from the crotch area and work outward from there. When you get close to the elastics, try to tear around them (or cut with scissors) so that you leave a little bit of the cloth cover where the elastic attaches.

Of course, this is all MUCH easier if you don’t want the elastic anymore either. (Oops!)

One anecdote from using GoodNites and other baby diapers with the covers removed: They tend to have pinhole leaks. The cover material, although it may seem to come off without much of a fight, tends to pluck off little bits of the underlying plastic, which is extremely delicate stuff. YMMV, of course.

Thanks for the tips, I have 0 idea what the outside elastic is for anyways since there’s already elastics on the inside but what do I know. And I’m completely fine with leaks since I tend to soak my drynites anyways, leaks just make it more fun.
