I am interested in the distinction you make between regression and little space. can you describe a bit more about the differences between the two. are there differences in what brings you into the two different mindsets?

Yeah little space is nice just me and stuffie cuddling each other and being little together in a
Happy place. Regression the hooks dig in and take me back where I don’t want to be..
To me regression and little space are not the same . Hopefully I’m making sense
Regression = going back to a time earlier in your life
Little space = taking the mentality head space of your inner child and applying it to the present
Its very very similar and has overlap between both categories, some people can’t achieve the little head space with out regression like triggers from their childhood.
My actually early childhood was a mess and traumatic, I dont exactly want to go back to that time, I just want to have that head space I had when I was ignorant of the world and things could be simpler, no one had left me behind, its confusing. When I achieve little head space I am not regressing so much to the past, as much as the past is transcending to the future, its kind of a self therapy for my inner child, I can dig up that persona and give it the love it didn’t have or felt was lacking.
I think of regressing as going to a younger age not going back to a time earlier in your life. Little space is being aware you are an adult but allowing yourself to express your inner child.
I think in some ways it’s semantics. But I can see how regression could be tied to your lived experience. I prefer the term regression as it’s less kink laden and easier to explain as a coping mechanism. That’s my view on it. I think it’s a personal thing at the end of the day.
exactly
impure regression might also be a thing thats relevant?

Thanks for your clarification. It makes perfect sense.
I believe there is a relationship between regression and Little Space as you define them. For at least some ABDLs, Little Space is a comfort we need because of things that happened or didn’t happen in our biological childhood. Revisiting (regression) the latter is discomforting or painful. Our need for Little Space is a comfort and an alternative to regression. There is an involuntary component to both our need for Little Space and our revisiting the uncomfortable elements of our biological childhood.
