Question PMD

Hello. I was just reading about PMD and it got me wondering. I want to ask an embarrassing question (at least for me). For as long as I can remember, when I get done urinating, and as I put my thing back, I always get one last squirt that leaves a wet spot on my underwear. It doesn’t matter how hard I try, it is inevitable. Does this sound like PMD? I’m really not looking to be IC, it’s just that it would really make me feel better knowing there is a legitimate reason.

It certainly sounds like PMD and you should really see your doctor and discuss it as there is a fairly simple process to help it called milking, but it can be slightly painful.

Therapeutic Management of Incontinence and Pelvic Pain
As medical knowledge advances we tend to compartmentalise our specialties into smaller units; but, hand in hand with this, there is a growing understanding between the different disciplines within the caring professions. Thus we are able to share our special skills to the benefit of patients…

Shake it a few more times, just not to much. More then a few shakes is playing with it.

I had issues like you described for a few years during middle school and high school time. Since then it is usually just a few drips. Shaking seems to do the trick now. Asking your doctor is never a bad idea, even if it is probably nothing.

I find if I sit down to pee one does not get this happen , but if I stand then I drip as well as pee and get the extra bit when putting my snake away

You can also try pressing your fingers on the area of your perineum to force any residual urine hanging out there.

I spoke with my nurse the other day at an unrelated appointment, but she wanted to me to make an appointment with my PCP. The nurse thinks that it could be an enlarged prostate or something else. So now I’m guessing I have a prostate exam in my near future. Now I’m not sure if I should wear a diaper or not. I’m thinking I’ll just wear a molicare so I can just tape it back on.

No matter how

You shake or dance

The last few drops

Go down your pants.

Glad you’re getting it checked out. Hopefully it is nothing more significant.

I was always told it was 3 and back when I was told this I found it much more tempting to lose count. Arousal could result from something as unrelated as a slight breeze. I’m thankful that those days of adolescence have long gone. Any of you guys remember walking around with your notebook strategically placed to prevent the world from noticing the wood that you were unintentionally sporting? It takes a bit longer to get it up now but when I do it’s something that I desired to happen. Stay padded, diapers work better than notebooks.

I had this start happening and it got to where I was wearing a male guard (much cheaper than a diaper). Did the urologist checkup and they said it was a (slightly) enlarged prostate. Flowmax fixed it - but I didn’t like the side effects. Got a referral to physical therapy for pelvic floor exercises and that actually did the trick - stopped the Flowmax and don’t have the issue. Still have some prostate symptoms - slow to start the flow, slightly painful to start.

Funny, I had the reverse of parcelboy2; it was worse if I was sitting to pee or go #2 and not an issue if I stood to pee.

When I did finally decide to go to my GP to get the problem fixed, the nurse comes in for the ‘pre doctor’ check of blood pressure and what are you here for etc…which I knew was the process… but she comes in with a nurse trainee as well! Well, having gotten this far I forge ahead with telling two young nurses “i pee myself”… very embarrassing.

I have a feeling my next appointment will be that way. I’m sure the nurse will come in and talk about it, and then my PA. I haven’t met the PA yet, so this will be an experience.

I had a leak today that created a noticeable wet spot on my pants at work. I had to untuck my shirt for a while. Hope I get some answers on Tuesday.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the doctor can help you.

Good luck with that.

Thank you. I’ve been doing a lot of research and there are a couple possibilities. Hopefully this gets tied to my herniated discs so the VA can deem it service connected. We will see.

Thank you. It seems to only happen when my neck pain flares up. I’ll bring that up with the doctor as well.

I have a question. My doctor said she doesn’t like doing the prostate exam because touching the prostate could cause a false positive, or mess with the prostate. Is that true? The reason why I ask is my wife and I enjoy pegging and I’m wondering if that’s what’s causing my dribbles.
