Question for the autistics

Because of my autism, anxiety, depression I see a therapist and I was thinking about talk to her about the diapers I would like to know if any of you guys talked with you therapist and how was their reaction

May I ask why you want to tell your therapist?

I kind want to understand why I do it

I am autistic too. I personally don’t feel like I’m currently with a therapist I’d like to talk through it with, but I can see why you would want to. It’s helpful for us to understand the WHY, especially when we have autism, and it can also help us to process our feelings and come to an acceptance about who we are.

Any good therapist will not shame you, nor tell you to suppress your feelings of wanting to wear diapers. They may even know someone else who wears and may be educated on the subject. If not, they can still help you understand yourself and accept that diapers are a part of who you are.

I’m not (diagnosed) autistic, but I told my therapist just because I wanted him to know everything, so he had all the information necessary to help me “make sense of it all”.

He was surprised that I considered it such a big issue, and (quite eruditely) suggested that I might have discovered it as a coping-mechanism to deal with stress. I doubt I’ll tell another living soul, but I’m glad I told him as… he just helped me put it into perspective as a harmless little quirk, rather than “the big dark secret that will destroy me if anyone else finds out”.
