Quick question about diapering yourself.
Should the band sit on your hips (like your pants) or come higher towards the belly button? Specifically I have the Abena M4 right now. I find that the higher I go, the ‘looser’ it gets in that it wiggles and shifts a little more. But I don’t want to leak if it’s not secure enough.
Thanks in advance!
Well I personally like the waist band to be higher on me. But it’s up to you on how you want your diaper to fit. If the waist band is around your hips and doesn’t leak then that’s ok. If you want it to be higher then try a new way to tape it. The abena m4 is kind of a hard diaper to fit right for me.
Depends on the diaper and your body. I prefer to have the top tapes hugging my hips, so I bring the front a little higher than feels natural, almost up to my belly button, and once I have it secure I tuck the waistband down below my pants waistline. The position of the leak guards on your body can be really important, but I would just reccomend trying it many different ways until you are satisfied.
I pull the diaper up as high as it will go so the diaper is snug up into my Crotch.
I attach the upper tapes so they go around where my pants belt would be. Depending on how long (front to back) the diaper is, that will affect how high or low on the front panel the tape ends up, to keep the crotch snug
Position of the lowers varies. I usually prefer to attach about an inch below the upper tapes, out about an inch, angled down at 45 degrees.
