Im interested in buying some pull ups. I havnt ever used them. Im just wanting to know, if anybody recommends wearing them with a diaper cover. Thanks.
Abena is pretty good pull up from what I’ve heard atn pulls are ok but not greatest
pull ups leak, at least for me, I got by with good nite as a teen for pleasure. I would recommend a diaper cover like a good pul pant, but I kinda recommend that for any time a diaper might leak.
For me they aren’t great. Might be my body shape so I usually stick to tabbed diapers. I will wear them when I plan to use the urinal during my travels.
If you’re buying store brand pull-ups, like from a local pharmacy, then yes, you should wear a diaper cover because they will leak. The majority of them are designed for light-to-moderate incontinence.
There are a lot of higher-end pull-ups which do a far better job at holding: Abena, Northshore, Tranquility…I’ve had good experiences with those pull-ups and rarely ever any leaks, even after a big wetting. Tena pull-ups do an adequate job, better than store brand but not as good as the aforementioned three. I know that other companies who make ABDL diapers like Forsite make pull-ups, but I haven’t tried those yet.
I’ve never found any ABDL pull ups that are any good and don’t leak. Bambino did some that looked good due to the baby design but they were awful! Best sticking to proper nappies
I’m in a Boots Staydry pull up. I’m wearing it back to front and it seems to hold more.
I wear Dry Direct from www.parentgiving.com. I’ve only had 1 leak in over 2 years of wearing them; but, I’m not ic and control how much and how fast I pee in them. They have an excellent capacity for pull ups. The company only ships within the U.S. If you are not in the U.S., I believe you can buy them thru amazon.com. I do not wear a diaper cover.
Tranquility makes a good one. Personally, a good pull-up has leak guards and tranquility has them if you live in the USA target had store brand Up and Up brand which had leak guards as well and I thought they had good absorbency even for sleeping. I’m not sure if target brand still has leak guards since I only wear diapers now. It’s been almost one year since I bought target brand, but they are very good and used to have leak guards like all absorbent underwear should.
In my experience pull-ups have nowhere near the same capacity as diapers, just a heads up. But they’re definitely more convenient than a diaper. I don’t have too much experience with pull-ups, but oddly enough, when I was smaller and could fit into them better, I really like Goodnites and they actually seemed better quality than most other available pull-ups. So if you can fit into the current sizes well or once they come out with their new larger XL size around next March (assuming they’re the same quality as their current line up), I’d suggest giving those a try. It could also be my AB bias making me prefer/like Goodnites more than most other pull-ups too, but I swear, I remember them having more absorbent padding material and having slightly better capacity than most other pull-ups.
But I’d definitely suggest taking other posts from peeps with more pull-up experience over my 2 cents ![]()
Quoting you, adult pullups with good qualities are slim pickings. ![]()

it leaks because the pressure on your bum against the gel in the pullups makes the pee come out the side if you do a long or big pee when not standing up
I only wear pull ups for the feel, and sometimes to give me a nice smooth front if I’m wearing a tight skirt. They’re not much good for wetting, in my experience.
If I’m going to wet I always wear a nappy, and usually with plastic pants too.
For me pull-ups are either too big or too small. The LG/XL tend to stretch out after a few wettings then become useless. The SM/MD fit but not enough padding. As a matter of fact no pull-up has enough paddling in the front. I’ve said this before, pull-ups were and are still designed for women. They are not designed for men, and especially not designed for nighttime wear for men with incontinence issues. Depends Real Fit are the only pull-up designed for men because the padding extends up to the front waistband, but unfortunately lack a full padding up the rear and they have no leak guards.
Pull-ups are not diapers and should never be confused with diapers. They do not function like a diaper and were never intended to function like a diaper. They are intended for light bladder leakage and not fecal incontinence.
In the past when I wore pull-ups out of desperation I would wear a pair of my tightly whities over them to keep them in place.
