So, I’ve got several onesies, 1 from Tykables size L and 4 from 4care size 3XL.
The reason for the size difference is that I upgraded the 4care ones trial by error from M → L → XL and finally to 3XL because I couldn’t stand that tight pull of a onesie (it chafed my legs and pushed the wet diaper too close to my skin causing severe rash)
I only wear this thing when I sleep to reduce leaks and get a snug fit, I don’t like to wear it during the day, even though it’d prove useful in reducing sag and camouflaging the bulk, but the chafing and rash risk is just too high.
At night I wear a Rearz inspire+ incontrol + abri let maxi booster, quite thick but needed, hence the 3XL so it won’t squeeze it against the skin.
The tykables on the other hand is snug around the body, I specifically chose L there since the fabric has some stretch in it and it shows, it’s a comfy fit except in the crotch. It pulls too hard and now again I have severe rash ![]()
So the thing is, when does one actually reach the proper fit for a onesie? I know a onesie has to pull the diaper up a bit but by how much? Should the inside liner of the diaper still firmly touch the skin or not? should the onesie fabric feel tight and pulling or a bit looser with room to comfortably fit a finger or two between?
Is it ok for the onesie to be a bit more on the loose side than on the tight side or vice versa?
For reference, I am 182cm in total length and all body measurements fit nicely within Tykables L range, when wearing a daytime (thinner) diaper it’s much more loose, but the night diaper is very uncomfortable right now ![]()
