Last night I got ready for bed as I would on any other night.. I put on an abu simple and threw some sweats on over it… I have cats and one that likes to sleep on me. She must have made a few small punctures in my diaper while she was getting comfy while I was sleeping… I woke up this morning and didn’t wet at night and when that happens there is no need to change. I had to run to cvs to pick up a few things for my wife. While I was there I flooded my diaper and it was too late when I noticed pee dripping down my leg into my shoe.. I was wearing light gray sweats so it was noticeable that I had an accident.. It didnt look like I had a diaper leak it just looked like I wet my pants I was so embarrassed. I didnt even finish shopping I just ran to my car and went home..
Well, if you’re going to cvs it’s either for some random thing you need or medical reasons. In reality its better to have an accident there where people won’t think twice than other places like your work or with friends. It still must of been very embarrassing and sorry to hear it happened to you.
I was lucky there wasn’t many people around.. I was there to pick up milk and a few munchies for my pregnant wife… The only person I know for a fact saw what happened was the cashier other than that Im in the clear I hope!
Plastic pants might help with any leaks. Just don’t wear them to bed so the cat can’t ruin them. I had 4 cats when I was living with my parents (rest in peace all of their cute little souls) and yeah they were jerks sometimes. I can’t tell you how many times they ruined things of mine. My one cat, Chance, shredded an entire package of my pads once! That was definitely not fun. Thankfully I started wearing diapers when they were all long gone and I moved out. Otherwise they probably would have ruined some of my diapers too. I’ve never wet in public but I have ruined my fair share of pants/underwear during shark week in public. It is NOT fun. I’m sorry you had to experience that though, it sounds awful. But yeah maybe try plastic pants or double diapering with plastic pants just in case.
Usually i never have a problem with abu simple.. when i got home and checked the diaper up close there was 7 tiny punctures in the plastic… thank you for your sympathy!
That definitely sucks! Yeah it sounds like your cat did a number on your diaper. Honestly, if you’re worried about it happening again, they have silicone claw caps that you can put on your kitties claws to keep them from scratching you or puncturing your diapers/skin. They sell them on Amazon as well as various online retailers. We used them for my one cats claws and they worked great.
Awesome i will definitely look into that thank you!
Your cats probably didn’t mean any harm. If the cat’s laying with you she was probably kneading. Try clipping her claws so they aren’t so sharp and don’t do as much damage. Claw caps like LilxFawn mentioned would be a good solution too. Declawing is a more permanent option and, at least where I live, all cats adopted from shelters are already declawed because fixing and declawing are mandatory upon arrival. These options are only all well and good if you have purely indoor cats though. If your cats go outside at all you don’t want to cover or remove their claws because they need them to defend themselves in case of a fight. I wouldn’t recommend capping or removing just one cat’s claws either. You would want to get all their claws done to avoid any potential conflict from arising between them.
Never declaw a cat. They do this by cutting off the last piece of bone in their toes.
Declawing a cat is torture in my opinion. It should only be a last resort option, as it literally is removing the nail and one of their knuckles. But that being said, you are right about the claw caps. We only put them on one of our cats because he was senile and he was the last one alive. He needed them because he couldn’t scratch properly without hurting himself. We tried the cone but that just made him miserable and we weren’t going to de-claw a 19 year old cat.
That’s horrible that they declaw it causes intense pain that dosnt go away and ruins a kitty’s balance.
Whwre the heck do you live that has mandatory cat declawing? From what I’ve heard most places have banned the practice or are in the process of banning declawing
Ok everyone, just to put minds at ease here.. I’m not declawing my cat because she caused great embarrassment lol… I cut her nails anf there hasn’t been a punctured diaper since all is well lol thank you for your replies and concerns!
Have my own story to share on this. The other night, I was in the office with some of my employees just chit chatting. One of the younger ones started talking about his twins, and how his house was going to stink because they were potty training. I chime in ‘Try some of the cloth training pants and plastic panties. It’ll at least keep the real messy accidents off your floor’. And then the floodgates opened, and low and behold I’m having to try to slink out of the office with one of the biggest diaper leaks I’ve had in a while. Like, just not little half moons. No, my bladder decided it was okay for my entire seat and sides to be wet. That I would need a change of socks, and perhaps should never talk about potty training again…
Good thing everyone is cool about it though. Only comment I got afterwards was asking if I put my plastic panties on too…
I guess you were not able to hide it huh? What kind of diaper were you wearing?
Northshore supremes with plastic panties on. It was just too big of a flood for anything to take.
I have Maine Coon cat that i started to let sleep wherever she wanted and she likes to lay by my legs, on top of the covers. I wouldn’t want her to wonder under the sheets and get too close to my diaper, if I wear one to bed that particular night. I think she might get the idea that if I can urinate in bed, she can too.
Btw for those of you that have cats, be grateful they don’t talk. They know too much. Just think about that ![]()
Soo true! Its so funny you say that.. my cat is a maine coon too!
I tried to take a picture of her and reply it to you, but the image was too large.
She’s a cutie pie though. I’ve heard Maine coons get BIG
They sure do!
