New DL here, what diaper would fit me ?

Hi, I’m 22 and I’m new in the DL world.

I’m 63kg (138lb) and 159cm (5.2ft)

I was just wondering what diaper would fit me best

I currently live in France

I have only tried Goodnites/Drynites XL (8-15) so far, so I wanna now if it’s a good choice, and what other option are available for me.

I also have problem wetting myself, I’m not used to it yet so I can only wet myself when I’m sitting not when I’m in bed

I was also wondering because I’m a man, should my member be pointing downward or upward in the diaper ?

I’m planning on living in Japan (I’m fluent in Japanese) in the near future so If someone also know what are the options available there that would be great

Thank you !

(sorry English is not my first language so there might be some mistakes  )

What’s your waist size?

And have your male parts pointing downward, otherwise you may end up with a wet stomach..

Trial and errors. Get samples instead of bags.

Ok ^^

Thank you all

don’t know what my waist size is, don’t even know how I supposed to measure it. From what I understood it’s from the top of the hip bone and travels up to just below the ribcage, or is that the hip size ? never done that before..

I’ll check for samples and abu diapers as you said

I fit pretty snugly into Goodnites and the diapers I usually use are Abena Abriform S4s, although if your waist or your butt is bigger than mine you might wanna go for the M4s. Rearz small or ABU small should fit you well, too, but I could be wrong and you might fit better into mediums.

You take your waist measurement and hip measurement and use the larger one to determine what size you need. (In both cases that is the circumference size, so you measure around the waist for waist measurement and around the hips for hip measurement). You can probably find diagrams online to help if needed

Goodnites, we all seem to have an appreciation for them, or fond memories of what they were when we had them as kids. Personally, I love them, they suit my needs better than many other options, with the only competitor for them in my drawer being Luvs. In my opinion, as far as dipping your toes in the water, Goodnites are not a bad option, they do work well, and from what I read on newer versions (I still have a stash I’m working on from 2015) have made significant improvements. If you’re not used to wetting yourself, don’t worry, don’t rush it, it will come, but with Goodnites be careful not to flood them, a gradual stream will do fine. Seeing as you’re “learning” you’re in a good spot, I might recommend that if you have big box retailers in France, like Wal-Mart and Target in the US or Canada you might want to check out the store brands for an economical alternative, or a gender neutral design. As far as the male plumbing is concerned, if you don’t want a firehose spraying you when you have to go, point your member down! Additionally, if you find yourself having leaks in Goodnites (particularly out the back) or an over inflated front, I strongly recommend trying the girls version as the core is placed more towards the center and feel to fill quite evenly. Other than that, finding what suits you is trial and error by sampling and seeing how your body responds to different brands. Can’t help you on Japan, but I do want to say that it is amazing that you are fluent in it! I had a professor live there for nearly a decade, and he taught me the meaning behind the symbols in the kanji of Tokyo, looks like an exceptionally difficult yet remarkable language.

Ok i’ll do that then Thanks for your explanation @omokitty

Thanks @FudgedInLuvs, Yeah Goodnites are really nice (I only know this brand so I can’t compare, and I know Pampers but I think I’m a bit to old for those right ?), Luvs ? dunno if I can get them in France..

don’t know about the older Goodnites versions (I’m pretty sure I’m using the newer one). I guess I’ll be able to wet with more experience, actually the first time I put on a diaper again (like 2 month ago) I didn’t know wtf I was doing and the “firehose” thing happened x) I don’t remember being a bed-wetter as a kid, don’t even remember how a diaper felt like, but I knew from like 13yo that I wanted to try a diaper again ^^ (not for sexual purposes but cause I think It’s kinda really comfy and cute, + it can be useful too)

I’ll try the girl version if that is better (I’m buying on Amazon and I saw that they have a pack of 9 or 13 diaper for both boy and girl versions).

Unfortunately I still live at my parent’s so I need to hide my diaper (and to get rid of them discreetly). I only have one left now so I really want to buy new ones, but I’m kinda afraid my mum will found out one day.

yeah Japanese is pretty hard but really fun, and it’s a beautiful country too (Tokyo mean eastern capital, to differentiate from Kyoto (the capital of Japan until 1868)

You’re welcome! It’s nice having a familiar brand, or at least one that’s iconic so you know a product that can be trusted to go to. If you are interested in trying the baby brands of Pampers/Luvs/Huggies (I just don’t know what brands you have available in France) you might want to look into a product called ConvertUps, for what it’s worth, I have some personal health issues after 2 long term serious illnesses and the treatment from the long use of medication that caused some damage with one byproduct being prone to nighttime accidents, I use Goodnites routinely, but my favorite diaper is Luvs. ConvertUps make it possible to wear them at night without worrying that a wing might break off (I can slim down to wear them naturally though).

Sounds like a fresh pack, they should be the new ones. I just have a bit of a stock pile from when I was sick, and I try to use up the old before I get a new inventory, though I love the new designs so much it might happen regardless. I was about the same age when I knew I wanted diapers again, part because I had night time accidents, and it’s just one of those things wired into our brains. Try to stay pointed down, when I got back into them, and even occasionally nowadays, there can just be something about diapers where my member will be at full alert poking up through the waistband and there might be a “surprise” with the firehose.

9 and 13 packs, those are perfect trial and travel packs, or small enough to hide in a room. I think they’re both good, and I have both on hand, in my case it depends on the night with what I’ll wear if I’m learning towards Goodnites over Luvs.

No worries, I’m in the same situation, but my mother knows about my personal health problems, and totally supports how I manage them. There’s tons of us who enjoy wearing diapers and have to manage to live discretely in the same way, the forum is always around for support, and then again, one day you will have a place of your own where it won’t matter what you have in your drawers or are wearing as underwear!

I’d love to visit Japan (France too) someday as well, the photos are mesmerizing especially in the diversity of the landscape. Would love to summit Fuji, dive in Okinawa, visit Tokyo, the possibilities are endless! Started a fair bit of reading about Japan a few years ago because some of my favorite, and best made products were made in Japan; Toyota car, Rotring drafting pen/pencil set, Miroku shotguns. Then my professor/boss shared with me how he lived there for quite sometime.

I saw the ConvertUps website, it’s a really really amazing project, I wanna buy that to see how it would work with those cute baby brands. It’s a extension so I’m guessing it will work well with size 4 5 6 7 (does size 7 exist tho ?)

I know that feel haha, even tough I find that an erection in the diaper a bit uncomfortable maybe cause the goodnites is not big enough or I’m simply not used to it yet.

Yeah, one day i’ll have my apartment and i’ll buy whatever I want to.

I’d love to go to the US too, I traveled a lot in Europe and Asia but never went to the US nor Canada. Yes true that Japan make really great stuff. I actually lived near the city of Toyota when I was doing an exchange program 3 years ago ^^

I really need to measure my waist and hip size to see wich Convertups and diaper I could buy

I use size 6 Pampers and Luvs since I can buy those in individual packs, and size 7 does exist with Pampers but in bigger packages (44 count is typically the smallest). In the UK Pampers makes a size 8. Hands down, best investment for my personal issues.

I think it’s painful because you’re in a pair of pants that are really “fixed” into one size and won’t stretch like a pair of boxers in length.

That’s my attitude towards my place, at least not having to be so sneaky.

That’s so cool! I have friends in the Czech Republic, and I get jealous about all the places they’re able to travel too. The US is neat in the diversity of places to go, I’m super partial to the mountains and the ocean, it’s just a shame that the two seldom meet.

hey there! didnt think I’d find a fellow exchange student here. I did one as well 2 years ago, cheers mate.

@inthedark Hey ! that’s cool, cheers ^^ where did you do it ?

Sweetie very simple look at your pants and I am sure there is a tag with your waist size. how tall are you and how much do you weigh can help me figure out a good size, and just let people here know I am sure there are many men here willing to help you out

I went to United States! What about you?

Medium size will fit you for almost all diapers. Try with common brands and types ( Tena , Attends, ID, DryLife ) and then move slowly towards more ABDL brans if you want. Depends of you body constitution. But how WABX said, It is trial and error.
