Musing on diaper costs and buying in bulk.

I’ve recently been looking at buying some new diapers, and noticed how much the cost per diaper goes down when you switch to the larger cases. Here’s a little bit of data I quickly grabbed.

Bag(12) of rearz safari: 28.71 (2.39 per unit)

Case(36): 69.21 (1.92/unit)

Bag(15) of rearz crinklz: 31.66 (2.11/unit)

Case(60): 107.51 (1.79/unit!)

Pack(10) of PeekAbus: 39.99 (4.00/unit!)

4Pack(40): 94.99 (2.37/unit, almost half!)

ABU mixed half case(40): 84.50 (2.11/unit, even less!)

Of course it seems the wisdom of buying in bulk still holds true.

Now some of these are pretty significant decreases in unit cost, but I don’t have the money (or space, or justification) to spend 80+ dollars on 40+ of the same diaper! (Though that mixed half case is probably the best thing, it’s still a lot for me!) And now I’m just thinking to myself like, dang! Wouldn’t it be great if I had even just one ABDL friend nearby that I could split the costs and diapers with, 3 would be even better! I was thinking about maybe reaching out to people online and seeing if anyone is nearby, but I just don’t think that would work out, trying to convince someone to do some shady online diaper deal with me. I am curious though, has anyone done this? If you managed to do it online, or if you have a friend that you split cases with. Does it work out for you?

As you say, buying in bulk typically means a lower per unit cost.

However, as you said, it also means shelling out a larger amount of money.

The other problem with bulk buying is having a place to put the extra items.

This is why I never make a blanket statement that you should always buy the largest case. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense.

Look around different sites also to get even cheaper prices. Example: My favorites, Total Dry X-Plus are $87 a case for larges on Bambinos website but only $80 a case on Total Drys website. However, when bambino has their holiday sales they get down to around $77 a case. (Free shipping on all)

I have a lot of abdl friends and the luxury of my own place. Even though I have the storage space, I like variety, so I tend to do this a lot.

Generally I’ll see what my friends are also interested in, buy a case or three of different stuff, then figure the price per bag after tax and shipping and split the order up at their leisure. So far it’s worked out pretty well.

I have no diaper friends around :frowning: it would be nice to share expenses of shipping and what not..

Occasionally ill offload a bag or two locally on Craigslist for around what it would cost aspartame if a Bulk Order

That way I get a quick sale and somebody gets a fair price on top quality diapers

I’ve never split up an order though as I’ve never got into IRL Socializing with any ABDLs

Funny thing is Diapers is the only thing i can even sell on Craigslist, anything else I get people that waste my time or try to scam me

Crinklz is at a great price point for buying in bulk…since you get premium quality diapers out of it.

That’s all we do now, case orders only and wait for a holiday sale, not uncommon to order 4 cases at a time here.

my order last month was for 5 cases of Mega-Max… just easier to do large orders for me ..I have the storage space

Fetlife->see if there’s a local bdsm group having a munch (casual meetup at a restaurant in normal street clothes) in your area (probably not until the covid stuff is over). Great way to meet other abdls.

Another advantage of buying in quantity is you have a stash to last you through “dry spells” between sales. When a sale comes up, stock up and save

Just did this actually, abdl specific groups for my city (it’s the major one in the area) are a little uuh, sparse and/or dead. But I suppose it couldn’t hurt checking out some of the other general kink groups or the larger non-area-specific abdl ones (it’s a big city, there’s gotta be a decent number around here somewhere…)
