I love the smell of Pampers from the 90s-early 00s. I was under the impression that modern baby diapers are unscented for the most part but I was washing my hands in our downstairs bathroom a few minutes ago and noticed that my mom had restocked the diapers we keep here for when my neice comes to visit and I caught a whiff of that intoxicating smell. It’s been years since I’ve smelled that scent but here it is. The usual Pampers she gets don’t really have a smell, but these Luvs smell very close to the Pampers I remember. It’s not quite as strong but it’s there for sure. I noticed it as soon as I entered the room. I wish there was an easy way to get that scent. I’ve heard the scented ABDL diapers don’t smell the same and I’ve never tried them anyway.
Am I the only one who loves that fresh baby diaper smell? Also, it seems like wipes used to have a fresh scent to them too but no longer do either. I miss baby smells.
There are Pampers Baby fresh wipes that smell babyish and I like the Up and UP brand wipes scent also..I notice though there seems to be way more unscented wipes and diapers these days on the shelf…It seems baby items have moved away a little from baby scents. I used to remember going down the diaper aisle in stores and smell the tell tale baby diaper scent. I dont notice so much nowadays.
I know exactly what you’re talking about, and that’s why I love my Luvs. Used to be that the toys were along the same aisle with the diapers at my favorite grocery store as a child, and I would either linger for the scent, or find reasons to go down the one end. When I bought my first packs of Luvs I was transported back immediately. Would I want a cologne or to have my house smell like it, no, but for my personal needs with my diapers I love it
Yes, the scent of Luvs very much reminds me of the old Pampers scent from the early 90’s. I can remember the first time I bought a bag of those Pampers, too. I was in middle school. I opened it up, played with one of the diapers, then shoved the open bag into the back of one of my desk drawers. A short while later, I came back to my bedroom and was horrified to find that it smelled VERY strongly of Pampers! That was when I realized I needed to do a better job of hiding my diapers, and fast!

Noticed this when I bought my first few packs of Luvs, but I only take out a few diapers at a time for my drawer. The rest remain in a box that has the classic "moving’ fold. I’d really like to pull the trigger on the 124 count big box, but the scent has me worried as they come in bags of 62. Sage words of storage advice?
So, do we think they are going back to a strongly scented diaper. I ask because about 5 or more years ago, I checked out pampers and luvs, and found the scents very low in strength and not very appealing. I wonder if things are changing.
Nothing beats the wonderful scent of a fresh LUVS diaper … but if you ever just want to. E overpowered by it just walk into any Babies R Us I did a wireless survey for WiFi and cellular at one a while back … I did not want to leave it smelled that good whole store
Oh yes, I remember trying to conceal that small when I was first sneaking diapers into the house as a teenager. It seems like most diapers have gone away from it but these new Luvs are almost exactly like the old pampers smell I remember.
Mmmmm… I’d be surprised. Babies R Us doesn’t even have a web site anymore. It directs you to Toys R Us. Toys R Us shows only two locations in the entire US, one in Texas, and one in New Jersey. I’d love to be wrong about Babies R Us, though, but pretty sure every US location closed years ago.
I haven’t bought Easy Ups for a few years now, but the last time I got them–perhaps 3-4 years ago?–it seemed to me that they had the closest smell to the old Pampers smell. It’s similar to Luvs, but has a slight sweetness to it.
That’s cool. I wish Babies R Us was still around. We do have a couple of Buybuy Baby locations in Washington, but unfortunately the nearest to me is about 100 miles away. D’oh!

Luvs, for some bizarre reason, have decided that their diapers should smell like a combination of baby powder and perfume. Perhaps they thought it would either help make your baby smell great, or more likely, mask the smells they make in their diaper.
However, this smell is so strong it is bordering on horrible. Most reviews I have seen online mention it, and some absolutely hate it.

The more I am able to accept my occasional needs (makes the fun easier too), I’ve had a much easier time walking down the aisle when shopping. Feels good to feel free instead of odd, it’s a common item people purchase, that’s why stores have an entire aisle for them!
I haven’t bought an Easy Ups but I will have to check them out. I know the “sweetness” you’re referring to. Luvs are very, very close but maybe still not 100% the old Pampers smell.
