Luvs or Pampers

Which do you like better and why?

Pampers cuz that’s what I started with in the mid 80s that’s why I like super dry kids a lot

Pampers, especially when you say it slow and drawn out. Pam…pers…

Luvs sounds normal.

Huggies sounds quick and excited.

I started wearing Pampers shortly after my birth, 5 years after Pampers first came out. Kimbies, the predecessor to Huggies, had far less visibility and, of course, Luvs & Huggies came out just before 1980. So, I was a Pampers baby when not in cloth.

Luvs smelled the same as Pampers but were the priciest of the two…then around 2000 or so, Pampers & Luvs switched: Luvs were budget, Pampers were elite. But as far as Pampers: they remained fanfold until 1984-85, which was good because with Pampers, you could undo the pleating glue-blobs, flatten, tape side-by-side, then stack, fold…and you had Pampers that’d fit you. Couldn’t do that with Luvs or Huggies…or '85-on Pampers.

And the Pampers smell: iconic. :smiling_face_with_3_hearts:

I’m in the UK where we don’t have Luvs so I’d have to go with Pampers. They are the diapers I remember my brother wearing (I can’t remember being in diapers myself although I believe I did wear Pampers) so I guess I see Pampers as the iconic baby diaper.

Pampers! Can’t beat the original smell of 1980’s Era Pampers. Will throw any older AB into little space instantly!

I’ll go ahead and be the first Luvs fan. Not for any experiences as a child, there’s just something about the name, and I absolutly love their packaging. It’s adorable. Also, purple is my favorite color, so a little biased.

Some time after I got my first big box of Pampers (1981), I managed to stumble across a few toddler-sized Luvs. They were quite thick and at first the hourglass shape was a put-off for me…but they smelled wonderful and felt soft between my fingers so I stuffed one in my underwear…and it was wonderful. The only bad thing was that I couldn’t combine these Luvs into a me-sized diaper but that’s why I had the Pampers: they were fanfold and easily made to a me-size.

So, yep, Luvs might not have been Pampers but they were still *very *comfy, soft and smelled nice.

Pampers because I flipped a coin and Pampers won!

Actually I have no preference. I’m too big for either brand and I grew up with cloth and plastic pants. I have never wore Luvs or Pampers.

Aren’t they from the same company but Luvs is the budget non-branded version of Pampers?

I grew up with pampers so i guess pampers lol

Well yes to both questions, but I’m not sure what you mean concerning non-branded version. Luvs is still a brand.

Back in the day, it was Luvs 100%, but now it can be either. They both fit about the same and have about the same protection level.

If we are talking late 90’s then Luvs size 6 with Barney on them were the only one’s I loved to wear!! In the early 90’s I wore Pampers, but didn’t like them as I got older.

I actually like both Pampers and Luvs equally.

Yes, both are, and were, by P&G. Pampers were the budget brand and Luvs the pricey brand. They swapped statuses after the turn of the century.

Pampers, because Luvs doesn’t sell a size 7 diaper.

I kinda wish Luvs comes out with a size 7. Unfortunately Pampers size 7 is really a size 6. :frowning:

I mean as in licensed character deals. Luvs has generic animal characters and Pampers gets stuff like Sesame Street nowadays. I know Luvs had Barney but that was a long while back. Though I think right now Pampers has a generic print

Barney…for years, I had forgotten. Why’d you have to bring it back? :astonished::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Oh okay, I understand what you’re saying.
