Looking for some insight on living with incontience

Let me start with this, I’m not incontient, but this is a question about incontience. I thought this would be the best place to ask, if it is not, I’m fine with moving it. Just thought I’d get that disclaimer out of the way, now on to my question.

So I started writing a story recently and the main character is a mother who has incontience after the birth of 2 kids. Since I’m neither a mother nor incontient I’m kinda out of my knowledge area but I want to get an understanding of what someone who has incontience deals with on a daily basis so I can accurately write about it.

I hope to do is make the story focused on the mother finally coming to terms with her incontience after years of not fully accepting it and closing her self of because of her embarrassment.

I really want to do this character right and not just make it another diapered character who has to use their diapers. I hope to make this an accurate piece of writing.

If you have any questions about the character or what I have planned for her in the story, let me know as I don’t want to post to much of spoilers for future chapters.

Just to correct you to start with, it’s “incontinence”

I don’t have any direct experience, but I like the idea of this as it’s the sort of fantasy that I’ve always had, the young(ish) incontinent woman who grows to accept and maybe even enjoy her nappies. Most fictional stories tend to be of the AB/regression type which does nothing for me really. So very interested to see what follows.

I know incontinence after giving birth is very common, but usually mild and curable - a woman being left in nappies long term is quite rare, but it does happen. I suspect nerve damage is the likely cause in such situations, as it’s typically hard to identify or repair. I’d maybe discreetly visit a few incontinence forums to see if there’s anything of interest (while obviously not posting in a way to draw attention to ABDL-ism, if at all).

ok first up for incontinence is that it can be very inconvenient. you will need to have an established routine for it. which from my experience is round the clock diaper checking and keeping track on your wetting and messing cycle because its hard to tell, I find it easer myself to just do the old hand between the legs to feel if wet trick but regually checking your diaper or in your case your character checking their diaper regularly as a part of a routine works
