I ordered diapers 4 days ago because i was down to my last package… they are not here yet and im getting nervous because i am in my last fresh diaper now.. i hope they come today or its going to be bad!
It’s a good idea to keep an extra case of diapers encase of slow delivery .
Now is especially bad for getting diapers … I’ve noted delivery delays are getting longer .
I may have to go get some store diapers to hold until my abu simples come in… i hate store diapers!
sorry don’t know if im allowed to ask you this:
are you incontinent?
Because if you are not, it wouldn’t be so much trouble as long as your Toilet is working.
If you are, u may try to drive to a drugstore nearby or a mall and try your best to get a pack
of Diapers until your delivery arrives.
I second this on delivery times. Having backups are a good idea. With my case I don’t have any diapers left, and had to cut cold Turkey (although I do have UTIs often and have to take medicine for it) I just stay closer to the bathroom and try to go before things get rough or if its sudden to go often. Big hugs to you and I hope your diapees come be sure to carefully track them and be careful in receiving it, wiping it down etc.
I order two cases of MagaMax yesterday , they say 5 days shipping , I always order when I have two bundles left ( 20 diapers) so I should be in good shape
I normally try to keep at least a case on hand at all times. If I changed jobs a while back and had no income for a while and that spare case was helpful.
I’ve considered switching to cloth to save on diaper cost. Ecoables was my choice of brand to use and they offer even nightime absorbency and cute designs
One Question i have about cloth diapers is, they don’t have any plastic shell outside or am i wrong?
And i can’t imagine there is Superabsorber in them…so how do they not leak after a while?
N
One has to wear plastic pants usually but I never used cloth. I made the decision yesterday so
No they don’t leak after awhile, they leak immediately, lol all in ones (AIO) have a pul cover on them and won’t leak right away , but plain cloth definitely needs a plastic pant over them, my AIO’s now leak as the pul has shrunk, or cloth has swelled so they leak a bit around the legs pretty soon after a wetting , they won’t make it though the night any longer without leaking by morning without plastic pants over them which makes them to hot for me now.
So this doesn’t happen again always have a small pack or two so you don’t have to worry and only use a diaper from it in a situation like this one
I am totally bladder and bowel incontinent and always keep a very large supply of diapers in my basement. I cannot afford to risk running out of diapers as I am totally dependent on them to keep my accidents contained. If you are incontinent, you should always have at least a 3 month supply of your preferred protection in your house. That will give you a good buffer just in case the suppliers run out of your products.
When I made my order from wearing clouds, I didn’t expect it to show up 2 days later. Guess I got lucky
Yes i have MS… and yes i had to go to the store
Although I have about four cases of disposable diapers at all times my preferred diaper is cloth. Somehow I never run out lol. My advice is to have at least two days of cloth diapers on hand. This way if you are primary a disposable user and have trouble getting your preferred diaper you will have a fall back supply.
Got the email today from Nprthshore that my order has shipped…happy happy
This is why I haven’t used all in ones (AIO). The attached cover often wears out much before the cloth diaper and they are much more difficult to wash and dry than thinner, separate diapers. By adding layers individual cloth diapers can match your absorbency needs and these diapers wash cleaner and dry better than an AIO. When your diaper cover wears out you just replace it and since cloth diapers often last at least 3 years you may have to replace covers more than once. It’s much easier to cloth diaper if you have a washer/dryer but when my washer broke down I did go to my local laundromat several times and if you’re discreet it didn’t seem to be noticed. I had a large plastic bin that contained my laundry and most folks aren’t that interested in others laundry anyway. My guaze contour diapers have saved me a lot of money and now they’re even more convenient as I don’t have to worry about shortages or shipping delays. Tide powder, a splash of bleach, a couple cups of vinegar (for hard water and bacteria removal) and I’m set. Good luck to all you that are having difficulty finding what you need, just don’t panic and prolong the shortages by hoarding. Stay padded.
I’ve never tried the AIOs but I can see the problem with them. I don’t like the contour diaper; I guess I’m more of a traditionalist. I like the rectangle diaper better with the PUL diaper cover. I wash my diapers in the sanitary mode with a detergent that works for diapers, bleach and oxiclean. This works very will. I think that I will start to dry my diapers on the cloths line where the son helps make them whiter along with putting them in the dryer to soften them up. I do have a lot of disposables when I need them. Since my neighbors know about my diapers who cares. The cloths line will be a retractable type so it is out of the way most of the time.
Off topic but, you do realize that you shouldn’t mix vinegar and bleach right? It can create chlorine gas. And even if the concentration isn’t high enough to be dangerous, all you’re doing is neutralizing the bleach (a base) with vinegar (an acid).
