So its not really double diaper. I have a disposable insert and I tend to make it as a booster, like cut slits on the bottom. But I’m still not sure to how big or many slits I need, I tend to just use a cutter and make 2 rows of like medium sized cuts (2-3cm or 0.8-1.2") from the front to the back of the “booster” but the sap always falls out and there will be like sand on my bed. I have look around the forum but nobody really stated how big and many slits needed, thank you ![]()
The best results we got is when we use the Wartenberg Wheel to puncture the inner diaper.
ohh i actually havent tried making holes out of it, it might be something to try thanks ![]()
Many small is better then few large ones, you dont want the sap filler to fall out of the stuffer, I use this method when I stuff a baby diaper into a larger diaper.
I suggest spreading out 1" cuts that run front-to-back. if you try to cut side-to-side it will break up easier.
keep the cuts away from the sides.
Here’s the deal. Use a pinwheel (Get them on Amazon). Roll the pinwheel about 3 times both sides. You get a million little punctures without wrecking the plastic cover.
Sorry. My bad. You can find a pinwheel ( warten pin wheel 7" ) at
I use my pocket knife. I use my thumb on the blade to regulate depth and length by just exposing a 1/4" or so of the blade tip. Make your cuts plentiful and random. Be sure to do it front and back. I focus more towards the middle.
I’m always curious if it has any different effect by doing it random slits or in rows.
sounds great, but nobody sell any pinwheels here. any other suggestions that might the same way? thanks!
I use a very sharp razor blade and do the cuts from side to side about 3/4 of an inch apart. I apply light pressure so that you are only piercing the plastic outer layer. That ‘s why a sharp razor blade is better.
I then make sure that the insert (I use a baby diaper ) is tightly held against the outer diaper so that even if the sap starts to come out, it does not go out of the outer diaper.
If you are feeling the sandy crystals you are allowing the sap to leak out before you have it positioned in your outer diaper.
What diaper are you doubling?
I use a scissors. I pull the outer surface away from the absorbent material and make four appx. 1" cuts evenly spaced from front to back along the center. Then I make another set of 3 cuts between the center and the edge on each side. I space these between the 4 cuts along the center. Thus, I end up with ten 1" cuts in the outer shell of the inside diaper. It has never failed me yet. I also use a diaper that is smaller in capacity for the inside diaper. The outside diaper has cuffs that are a bit wider than the absorbent material of the inside diaper so there is very little likelihood of the inside diaper leaking past the outside diaper.
inthedark, you can find that pinwheel at etsy. They call it on there as the “warten pin wheel 7” " I use them up on the front side, high and low on the plastic cover. The disposable diaper makes a million little punctures without wrecking the plastic. Then you can use another disposable diaper (I use a larger diaper over the first smaller one) or, like I like to do, use the pin wheeler over a quality disposable under a larger cloth pull-on diaper and plastic pants. If everything gets too wet, I just keep using the disposable and then changing to another cloth diaper. I can wear the same disposable for as long I want. I did it for about 24 to 48 hours. I ended with a couple of poops in the same disposable. Yikes! It was a very massive poopy diaper.
Before I started using a pin wheel, and now a 9 row pin wheel to make lots of small holes, I would take an exacto knife and pokes as many holes in it, but not making any slits because I didn’t want the stuffing coming out. i found using slits pee wouldn’t leak out, it would rush out through the slits
Hey, just search “leather stitching wheel tool” on Amazon; you’ll find several options that are about $7 USD. They may not have multiple rollers, but they’re cheap and sharp. Far better than any slit cutting in my experience!
I dont live in america, its a 4 tape diaper, its plain white medical diaper like.
Too bad there isnt anyone selling pinwheel in my country. amazon shipping would be expensive
There’s a British medical brand called Aidapts and they’re are badly thin but somehow still sell, one leaked after one full bladder wetting and what I did with them I’d do with simular brands: use a standard kitchen (cutlery) fork and make some holes like that, worked for me.

i tried every thing tbh big slits or small doesnt really matter for my situation. the disposable inserts that i use locked the pee pretty tight, even when i full it it will just swell up even more then it’ll somehow leak the sides and only some pee actually goes to the diaper. well guess imma use it as it was advertised. its pretty cool to just take off the insert without actually changing lol.
