Hey! We’re slightly better than peeing on each other!

What study did this come from?

Is infantilism even part of ageplay? Ageplay seems rather broadspectrum…

They both said they were defined within the study. I would agree that ageplay is much broader that autonepiophila ( DL) or paraphilic infantilism (AB)

Not sure original source, stole it of of Reddit

I saw this on Reddit earlier. One of the commenters wrote that he was disappointed not to see diapers on there — as was I. Yes, diapers can be associated with ageplay, but they are technically separate things.

Actually AB would be closer to “ageplay” and diapers would probably fall into the “inanimate objects”

Without the original source definitions it is hard to tell and a lot of kinks are left out.

Also a 3 to 1 ratio of men to women and no age data leaves a lot to be desired too.

Also consider that this “survey” was done via twitter & tumblr and apparently only had two options of “sort of” or “super into”

How the heck is rape play slightly less taboo than age play?

this study just says that men seem to have more abstract sexual interest? lol what?

Why the hell is paedophilia on here when that’s literally against the law?

Well, at least the three illegal ones appear on the bottom right of the chart.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice lactation is next to ageplay?

I suppose it’s the most reviled sexual practice in the world (and rightly so) and as such it’s there for scale, just behind necrophilia.

Alternative sex positions to missionary being the most accepted/least taboo is the other end of the scale, which isn’t really a fetish at all, is it?

I certainly can’t claim to be into or understand the mentality behind “rape play”/“consensual non-consent”, but I can honestly say that I’ve found way more people (exclusively women, in my case) who will openly admit that’s something they’re into, way more than anyone would openly admit they’re into ABDL/DDLG.

I feel that “consensual non-consent” ties in closer to people’s general idea of what “rough sex” is, not too far removed from something like S&M. On the other hand, a lot of people still erroneously associate ABDL/DDLG with pedophilic implications…I don’t need to tell anyone here that’s obviously not true, but I guarantee that misconception is what makes it more “taboo” than rape roleplay in the eyes of the general public. “Rough sex” is easier for the average person to comprehend than diapers and onesies.

Paedophilia is a sexuality, not a crime. It’s a psychiatric disorder just like most other fetishes, only when paedophiles decide to take action they violate the law.

I actually pity them because they probably live a harder life than LGBTQ+.

Being 7 is hard enough. Feels good not to be a friggin 9. lmao.

No. No. No. It’s not a sexuality, like you said it’s a psychiatric disorder. I feel sorry for those who were abused as a child and maybe want to seek help. I don’t pity them though. It’s vile.

I think the point @Sam is trying to make is, they likely didn’t choose to be a pedophile. Science doesn’t know how or why people end up with certain sexual desires. Theirs is dangerous to the health and well-being of children. As such it is criminalized, just like any act that harms others and/or children. I highly doubt many of them consciously chose to be a pedophile just like nobody chooses to be schizophrenic. None of us chose to be AB/DL. So from that aspect I pity them. And if they did consciously choose it then yeah that’s vile. I just can’t imagine that being common though  based on all other forms of sexual desire, people don’t consciously get to choose, like being gay, you don’t choose to be, you just are. While I am not an expert on the topic, I’d posit that very likely, pedophiles were themselves abused sexually as children or witnessed abuse as children. I hope one day we know enough to “cure” people of such desires that are dangerous to others.

Edit: oh god I hope nobody took that the wrong way. I’m not comparing being gay to being equivalent to a pedophile. Being gay is fine/normal, harmless. Pedophiles are dangerous. Was merely making the point nobody chooses to be gay. And I really doubt pedophiles chose to be what they are. Idk maybe I’m too lenient or empathetic towards people. I just realized one day that, in the wrong place or wrong time period, being abdl could have been met with very serious consequences. Not that pedophiles should ever be normalized like abdl. Ugh I don’t want to sound like I’m standing up for them. Just saying I have empathy towards people that didn’t ask to be a certain way.

Also what is futa? And sounding?

I can’t stress enough the anger and disgust I feel towards pedophiles, not the least of which because I’ve worked with and cared for children in varying capacities throughout my life, primarily vulnerable and disabled children. I am aware that, for the most part, a pedophile’s attraction - like any other paraphilia - is not intentionally chosen and there are people who work hard to rectify their desires through therapy, but there are still limits to how much sympathy I’m willing to extend or should be extended to them.

I’m not going to congratulate somebody for not molesting children, that’s the expected minimum of acceptable human behavior and it would be no different than rewarding someone for choosing not to rape somebody. I feel that because sometimes people focus more on pedophilia as a sympathetic paraphilia or even a “sexuality” (i.e. “it’s not their choice”, “some don’t act on it”, etc.) rather than a psychological sickness in need of curing, that’s why we see pedophilia advocates trying to normalize it with B.S. terms like “minor-attracted person”. HARD lines need to be drawn to prevent this. If someone is genuinely struggling with illegal sexual desires, that’s something they should keep in therapy, because if anyone expresses a public opinion on pedophilia which isn’t abject condemnation, they should absolutely face very harsh consequences (blocking, banning, reporting, etc.). We simply can’t extend ANY sympathy towards pedophilia, because pedophiles have shown they’ll take full advantage of it and that’s how we get people arguing that “minor-attracted people” should be included within the LGBTQIA+ community (which I know is a very small minority opposed by the very vast majority of LGBTQIA+, but it shouldn’t even be a discussion).
