I recently picked up a pack of Ninjamas, because, despite being advised against, I couldn’t resist trying them out.
Rather than say “I fit into Goodnites fine, but Ninjamas…” (since “fit” is a dubious term when it comes to these products) I think it would be more useful and informative to **show visually **how they fit differently, especially for those among us whose size make these diapers, perhaps, *conceivably *practical. So let’s compare. For starters, my measurements:
Height: 5’7"
Weight: 130lbs
Waist: 27.5"
Hips 32"
Here’s how I fit in Goodnites:
Take note of a few things:
Not tight, nor excessively baggy between the legs, plenty of room.
Side elastics curve naturally with the legs, not stretched tight.
Now, lets take a look at Ninjamas:
So, even while I get a decent rise out of Ninjamas (right below the navel) some things should be clear right off the bat:
Much less room between the legs.
Side elastics are tighter, lie unnaturally flat across the legs.
Smaller overall. (Obviously.)
The most critical difference I’m noticing between Goodnites and Ninjamas is their inability to tolerate larger hips. Goodnites will stretch and tolerate sizes far above their weight limit. Ninjamas are not forgiving of larger hip sizes, even while their sides are far stronger and more resilient than Underjams, in my opinion. If you stray above the 125lb limit, and beyond, say, 33" hips, all bets are off.
Wow, we have almost the exact same proportions. I’m 6’3" 150lbs 35" hips and 32" waist. People like us are an unusual size and difficult to fit. I pretty much fall somewhere between small and medium on everything, rarely ever fitting just right in either one. And that’s not even factoring height lol. I don’t suppose you would mind telling me what products you have experience with and how they have worked for you?
BTW, Goodnites fit me comfortably, but just barely, and they have a very low rise. For pull-ups, my current go to is Target up&up. They are much more generously sized, almost appropriately sized even, maybe just slightly less absorbent, but otherwise very comparable to Goodnites.
Hmm. The Ninjamas seem very similar to Comfees Sleep Overs, only smaller and more colorful. The Comfees XL are plain white but are rated up to 140lbs and fit me perfectly. Like, I’m not just squeezing into them, they legitimately fit me as intended. See my comment above for my dimensions.
It still bugs me a lot why Ninjamas share the same count per size as Goodnites. Yet L/XL are still smaller than L/XL Underjams. And P&G gives that stupid (possibly fake) response saying that they tested Ninjamas on 1,000’s of kids.
Were they all skinny and in lower elementary school?
I just want Ninjamas to be closely competitive with Goodnites, because frankly I don’t believe they are at this point.
I haven’t tried the newest Goodnites yet as I still have plenty of the owl design. I was excited to try the Ninja ones until I read all the bad reviews, easlily tearing, much smaller… I may just skip them… I even have some of the Dragonfly/Fairy design.
Can you upload the pics they are gone and i need something that fits perfectly on my little 1 and would love to see the fit comparison between Goodnights and Ninjamas
