Some kind of a dare is the reason why all got started.
My girlfriend was a bedwetter and I knew from nothing. After asking her multiple times to go to a camping trip, she told me that she needs protection for the night.
I told her, that there is no reason to be ashamed of.
So she changed the game and told me, if there is no problem, I can wear one too. So I did.
First it was strange. It was the first time sleeping with a girl.
The following nights she asked again and the diaper thing become a regular ritual.

Your opening sentence either makes no real sense or is just untrue, I’m going to say most of our origins aren’t dares or dare-based.
It’s almost rude to just state something as fact if that’s what you were doing
…as I said though you’re opening sentence doesn’t make sense.

It makes sense in that he was asking her to go camping and she was uncomfortable based on she’d need protection and that wasn’t yet revealed in the relationship. That’s the way I read it anyway.

I dislike putting anything under the microscope (if you will) but it’s that “why” instead of a maybe ‘we’ that’s getting to me.
If it’s a ‘we’ the poster is saying many ABDLI+s are the way they are because of dares …and I just don’t think that’s true …unlike Twitter Adisc is yet to have little blue pop-ups saying “This fact is disputed”!!!

Yes! I was about 7 years old and me and my next door neighbor were at a neighbor kids house up the street. We somehow found a pack of diapers and they dared me to wear it, so I did. I don’t remember a whole lot about it, don’t remember how long I wore it. I knew I liked the smell and feel of diapers from when I was young, so I had no problem going into the bathroom alone and putting it on. Then came out and told them I wore it. Lol that’s what I remember anyways.

I took it as he meant to say that is how it all got started for him. He is from Switzerland, so English probably isn’t his first language.

My first diapered experience was a dare to myself with my friend. We were in her room one day and I found some old pampers in her cabinet (not sure if she wore at the time or if they were for something else). We were around 6-8. I suggested that we tried them on (over our clothes). So we did and we spent that playtime just messing around in diapers and just playing as normal. Since then, most times I went round we did the same. Until one day the pack was gone, never to return. I really loved those playtimes, we never even put them in properly (I wish we had and that we used them too).
One time I remember that her brother, who was around 3 years older walked in and saw us and then just said what he needed to and left. He must have been a bit shocked to see us two there in pampers.
After this I never really thought about diapers again until I saw a video of something ABDL and discovered the community.
