In general, if I can visually count how many diapers I have left without any math, I start having mild panic attacks that can only be stopped by making a purchase.
…either I just identified that I have an addiction… or I need to get start a diaper company.
When I’m in a wearing binge I buy cases and cases off nappies, The thinking around this is that I’m going to wear 24/7 but end up not wearing as I’ve gone into a purge. So I always have cases. I currently have 4 cases of BetterDry
Yeah, I get nervous as I wear anymore for medical needs, so when my supply drops I worry if I’ll make it through the night without needing to do laundry the next day, and with the pandemic it’s a mix of “are my brands actually in stock” with “ok, if I get this, it’ll probably kill me, but how many diapers would I need in reserve to make it through the XYZ months of misery”? I’ll be restocking come the first of the month just so I have a decent reserve
Lol, being 24/7 means cases, not bags… And I’d be getting pretty anxious if it ever got down to one case… However, for a very long time it hasn’t been an issue since my supply is diversified with three or four primary diaper brand /styles. If any one gets down to a case or less, I’m more likely than not to place an order immediately so I don’t have a chance of running out of the style that I enjoy wearing.
I was down to 5 diapers left and could feel my anxiety, the next day a pack of 28 arrived, then following day 8 samples, nicely stocked up again for a while, much more content
I usually always have at least 3/4 of a case. Don’t want to end up in a situation where I have to do extra laundry. Plus I don’t want to have a wet spot on my pants at work.
I wear 2 brands of diapers. I order a case of each at a time. One brand is 80 to a case and the other is 72 diapers/case. I come nowhere near running out when I re-order. If ever I did run extremely low, I probably would get a bit anxious as I do want them on hand.
A few years ago I was into wearing the Attends waistband diapers. They arent everyones favorite I know, but I liked that they were all white and very crinkly, also inexpensive. So I would always order 2 bundles every few months or so from the local pharmacy. It was great because I could just go there pick them up and bring them home. I was avoiding having them shipped home because the household is very busy and lots of packages end up getting opened before I get to them…So anyway I lapsed getting a new bundle ordered and I remember feeling a little worried when i was getting down to the last bunch. I kept putting off ordering and I shouldnt have. I got to the pharmacy finally and the person in charge of orders told me they stopped making the Attends waistband at that point. So I was out of luck and shouldve heeded the anxiety earlier and ordered before they were gone. So the days of wearing those are over. I wont spend insane prices on Ebay for discontinued diapers, good lord some are selling like a two sample packs for like almost 100 dollars!! I miss those diapers but not that desperate…
I would be in big trouble if my stock of diapers got so low. I would have to go out and buy cheap diapers at the stores or something until I can get good ones back in. Because I have no choice and have to wear 24/7 I am always buying up some medium to cheaper diapers at thrift stores so that I can use them at home and or double/triple diaper to help save on my good diapers.
There are times that I have plenty of diapers and I have to stop myself from buying any extra diapers but if the price is right, and my wife is with me and she knows I am pondering it, she will tell me to go ahead and get them, better safe than sorry.
