Do you turn your phone off at night?

Bit of a random question, but I’m curious as to what other people do with their phones overnight.

A while back I sent a text to a friend at 3am and got a grumpy reply the next day saying that I’d woken him up. I was amazed that he’d leave his phone on overnight – no one’s waking me from my slumber!

So, yeah… just wondered what was “normal”…?

Hairy plane mode, usually, but I also sometimes turn it off.

Nope …no one is calling anyways only very close friends and they are sleeping . All my internet is done at home on my Apple products . I never ever use my iPhone for any social media ever

always on. due to my side job and just having friends who tend to stay up at odd hours for one reason or another, i keep my phone under my pillow. i’m on the top bunk at the dorm so by the time i’d wake up hearing a phone call, got down to the floor, and picked up, it would me missed. along with waking my roommate up.

I turn my off 30 minutes before bed. I’m trying to not use my phone before bed not healthy for your eyes.

I leave mine on, because I get calls from work needing help with production line issues. I would much rather turn it off.

my phone is always on but also always in silent mode , I only know if I have had a call or message when I look at it

From 2011 until Nov 18, 2013 I left my phone on 24/7 for medical purposes and on the Nov 19 I said I don’t need this on 24/7 anymore. I found out it was easy just to leave on 24/7 so Nov 20, 2013 and still today I leave it on 24/7

I use it as my alarm clock and its my only phone (no land line), so leave mine on.

I have most notifications set to silent though, so very rare that I actually get woken up by a random call (about as rare as when I had a landline). Even if I do get woken up, I’m one of those guys who can get back to sleep pretty much instantly.

I also use mine as an alarm clock

I leave mine on in case there’s an emergency family call. I’m afraid the last time that happened it was me calling my kids telling them that their mother was on life support, but I waited until after 6 a.m. They all came immediately.

I have an iPhone XR and put it in night mode no calls go through after 2130 until 0530 when I wake up. They all go to notifications and if anyone calls or text it will be in the drop down screen

My phone is always on but it’s also always on silent mode. Usually it’s right next to me where I can always see it to know if somebody’s calling. If I’m expecting a call I’ll turn it on vibrate to make absolute certain I don’t miss it. Just the small amount of noise vibrate mode makes is enough to wake me up. My phone’s old so it doesn’t do all the fancy internet and app stuff new phones do so I don’t have to worry about that and the only people that call me frequently know when I sleep so they either wait until they know I’ll be awake or call just as a way to let me know to call them later.

Always on and near I’m on emergency call for work, production and hazmat control.

At NIGHT, i’m at work and It goes off until each break, When i’m home sleeping in the morning I turn it on and leave it on the charger with the sound all the way on in case work calls about Shutting down or something

No, never. My phone has an automation app that stops the ringer from midnight to 7 am though. Then it goes total silent during work hours

On a normal day, I use my phone to watch a show or two before bed, so its usually on, but on silent. If I know there is no other lead, something special going on work, or the such, I will tell people I’m up to 2am, after that, phone is on silent or vibrate only.

I turn the ringer down as low as it will go at night, but it is still on and next to my bed.

Leave it on… You never know when you might get a call that you have cattle that have gotten out —or have to go help pull a calf (assist in birth) from a heifer having problems calving at 3:00 am.
