I want several. On my left arm, I want my wife’s name and our wedding date, and then our future kids’ names with their birthdays underneath. On my right arm, I want this: (I’m adopted from Korea, but I’ve lived in the US all my life).
It’s like they are always placed somewhere where others will notice them and hope others will ask about it and what it means. Sometimes people will tell me that it is artistic but I want to say “Choose another canvas where it has more exposure and can make more of an impression on others! You spent how many dollars to paint a symbol of a cause you support? Why not just give those dollars directly to the cause?”
At the end of the day I have no judgement. People should be able to do what they want to do. I after all am pretty vain and may spend more on clothes and shoes than one does on their tats and clothing combined.
I toyed with the idea of tattoos when I was younger, but I ultimately decided not to get any. Part of me can’t help but wonder if I would end up regretting it a decade or so down the road.
That tatoos used to be so rare that it made wearers of them unique. These days, everyone and their dog has got tatoos.
I am now more unique than they all are, whether it’s the Palo Alto software engineer who got a tatoo on his right shoulder during a wild night or the strung out heroin addict skater in Long Beach, with regretful vestiges sleeving both arms.
Rather, I can just take off my clothes when they become out of style.
My tigger was custom drawn for me I only presented the top half to her, on a side note I got this expression because most times this is how I appear. It was done at Blue Gorrila in North Charleston, sc
Never had the desire for them really. I always felt I’d look like a bill board. I always felt that getting old and wrinkly and saggy would make tattoos look weird and cartoonish.
I have six tattoos and I definitely plan to get more, limited exclusively to my arms. I don’t really intend on getting anything on my torso or legs since they’re always covered whenever I’m out and about; really the only time people ever see me without clothes is during AB/DL-related meet-ups, and honestly, tattoos kind of stand out in littlespace…that’s why most of my onesies are long-sleeved.
I’m a nerd, so all of my current tattoos and all of my future tattoos are an assortment of bands, video games and movies, a couple of which are projects of my own I’ve worked on.
I have had some idea since my early 20s (mid 50s now) - but something like that I need to KNOW the person does good looking work AND the equipment is ALWAYS clean! - I have never been satisfied with that and had money to pay them to do it at the same time - and it’s not exactly a top priority - in fact VERY low on my list of priorities!
