Do I have some form of incontinence or is it something else?

So over the past few months I have been noticing odd urinary behavior, as well as two events this year where I wet my pants.

Basically what has been going on is that between the hours of about 1:00 PM-5:00 PM I have to pee often and in large amounts. Sometimes in the morning but less intensely, but still often. My bladder mainly seems to fill quickly after peeing and usually refill to whatever medical term there is for max bladder capacity. But I’ve also noticed that I have moments where I need to pee really badly and I legit feel like I’ve had a few close calls. Just the other week I peed before I drove to walmart, and 15 or 30 minutes later on the way to walmart my bladder was aching fierce and even though I made it, it still felt like I was gonna pee any moment. I’ve had several of these occurrences, but the tendency is somewhat inconsistent but increasingly often it feels. Luckily so far I’ve managed to hold it in, and I often don’t have to hold long since I find a restroom quickly. Most often I have the chance to just pee in the woods, but that might not always be an option and I worry that the next time I’m in a long line or on a backed up highway that I might not be so lucky. Or worse yet that I actually start losing my ability to hold altogether. And again with the amount of pee, last time I wore a Dry 24/7 I managed to soak it to leaking levels in 3 wettings within about 3 hours, they used to last me thrice as long. I may be a huge DL but I would still prefer to be continent.

One factor could be diabetes, I am not diabetic but type 2 runs in the family and I did notice that urinary issues are a symptom of prediabetes. But that still doesn’t fully explain it for me as my last doctor’s checkup they did a bloodtest and said I was good. Also I’ve begun eating much healthier, lost weight, and I run two miles every morning so pre-diabetic symptoms should be alleviating and not slowly building.

Any ideas?

Well, I’d suggest talking to your doctor about it

Shoot! Forgot two mention the two accidents I had this year.

First one might not be considered an accident as I was peeing in the pasture I thought I heard someone behind me so I pulled up my fly and turned around (no one was there). Got my pants wet cause I couldn’t stop the flow.

Second time was a legit accident, don’t remember it as well despite being more recent, but IIRC, I put pants on then I peed myself. Thats it.

Yeah, that is inevitably what I’ll have to do. But that’ll be a ways out sadly. Hopefully I don’t rapidly deteriorate before then.

What makes this situation messy is that my parents know of my diaper fetish and didn’t react positively when they found out. Sooooooooooooooooooo If I do become incontinent legitimately, I might have to have a very not so fun convo with mom and dad.

It would be best to talk to your doctor. I by no means an expert but it sound like it could be diabetes. It runs in my family also and that’s the first symptom. Extremely full bladder minutes after Just going. Excessive thirst is another. It also could be a result of medicine. I myself have high blood pressure and the meds make me pee often as well. Lastly it could be your caffeine intake. Caffeine acts as a diuretic and a lot of drinks have it. Again these are just suggestions. Take care!

Definitely see your Doctor and an urologist appointment may be recommended by your Doctor.

He said change your life style or take bp meds for the rest of your life

I said meds please doctor wasn’t happy

O well

Just replying about blood pressure

Sorry

A doctor visit is a must but out of curiosity, what do you drink and how much? You say you’re a runner - do you drink a lot of water? Do you drink sports drinks, tea, coffee or caffeinated drinks? Large liquid in equals large liquid out and sugary and caffeinated drinks can cause bladder irritation and frequency.

There’s a lot of things it could be - diabetes was mentioned already, also bladder infection - you’ll need to see a doctor to find out.

this could be anything from diabetes to some form of urge incontinence or something far more serious, see you doctor ASAP and I mean Tomorrow if possible.

I don’t know if you can say “some form of incontinence or is it something else”. Incontinence is ultimately a symptom, not a diagnosis, as I understand it.

It sounds like to me the symptom is overflow incontinence or as heavy drinkers of diuretics may call it, “breaking the seal”.

Go back to the doctor and be up front and honest. You definitely don’t want to be having public accidents (it sounds like) and having to relieve yourself in inappropriate places.

I rarely drink caffeine and my usual liquid intake is almost always exclusively water except when I have a small amount of alcohol or fruit juice once every other week or so. Rarely drink soda.

That being said, I absolutely will be talking to my doctor about this. Hopefully things are okay.
