Diaper Budget

It hasn’t been a full year since I’ve realized I like diapers and even less sense I started wearing them. During this time I have found that I prefer printed over plain white (But I won’t say no to a good diaper) and I wear about 2-5 times a month. In addition about 90% of the time when I do pad up its for the whole day vs just an hour or so. My wife knows (and thinks it’s strange) but doesn’t tease or belittle me for them. Now before I get super sidetracked let’s get to the actual reason for this post.

Let’s face it diapers can be expensive, especially the premium brands like Tykables and ABUniverse. The cost is also dependent on how often you wear diapers and how many you may need on a daily basis. There is so much to think about when it comes to cost! I have read a number of forums discussing prices and quality of the many diapers out there. I have also seen posts on how much others spend on their diapers. My question is this:

Does anyone here do any extra jobs, hobbies, or have other sources of income to support your diapers?

I ask this because only buying samples is not the way for me to go. I’d much rather buy a bag or two that will last me a month or two. Not only is it cheaper in the long run, but if I want to wear And don’t have any, I don’t have to wait extra days for sample to be shipped. And yes I’m slowly working on building a supply so this doesn’t happen. But like I said diapers can be expensive. With a family to care for and only myself working (both my wife and I agreed on this) my income can support us fully while also allowing us to enjoy family vacation every so often. And yes I do have enough to buy diapers from time to time, just not boxes or subscriptions that charge every month.

I have also done things like set aside $10-20 From each paycheck to use for my hobbies or games. I can do the same with diapers no doubt, but I’d like to see if maybe there is something out there in which I can get paid just a little extra to help fund my diaper side.

Since I wear diapers 24-7, diapers can get pricey. Because of this, I can’t really afford those ABDL diapers that in my mind are the Cadillac of diapers. So i go to the Salvation Army or other second hand stores and buy packs of diapers that have been donated. I also go to Craig’s List and buy them. I just bought 2 cases of Attends, 96 count, and one case of Tena, 90 count for $40.00. I do this when I get paid and I probably have a years worth if a supply. A few weeks back I bought 10 packages of 16 count for $20.00 at a St Vincent DePaul 2nd hand store. I never run out of diapers! I even have a 40 count bag of Tena diapers in the trunk of my car for those “little oopsies” that I tend to have since I leak worse than my grandma’s basement.

Although paying for my padding isn’t a big problem, I still try to be frugal with my money. I keep a variety of diapers on-hand, have a specific lower-cost diaper for my daily wear-to-work, and mix things up for evening and overnight wear. I’ll occasionally treat myself to one of the more premiums, usually for overnight on a weekend, where I intend to sleep-in.

In Canada we use Kijiji instead of Craigslist but the diapers are pennies on the dollar with lots of new ads daily. Now, the abdl dips are less represented but still available. I’ve picked up some really good stuff for a good price.

Well maybe diapers could be expensive, depending the way that you look at it. I would say that lots of things in life are expensive. It all comes down to management and how you spend the money that you earned. A lot of people do not spend money wisely and do not clearly think things through and then complain about money. Also many people tend to spend money that they don’t even have…I do not mean to offend anybody but people going out and buying things that they cannot afford like phones, laptops, TVs, furniture, cars basically anything but they don’t even have the money to start out with. I would say this is just the wrong way. Of course it’s nice to have the newest phone a cool laptop, a big ass TV sitting in some nice furniture and then driving a nice car to work. maybe the dream? but actually if you look at the picture it’s wrong. All these nice things that you want and buy are also the things that are taking your money and making you work more and more because you need the money To pay them. but if you don’t have all these things then you don’t need that money to start out with. Actually the less that you have the better it is. Life is limited and who wants to work their whole life?

Living from paycheck to paycheck is a terrible thing. If you lose your job you have no more check… And then what? How do you pay for all these fancy things that you thought that you had to have at one time. How are you going to pay your rent or maybe your loan for your apartment or house? That’s why I say I think it is very important to save as much as you can and don’t consume too much.

I hope nobody understands me wrong here and I am not trying to offend anybody here. Life is tough and treats everybody different and everybody has different circumstances.

I work 2 full time jobs putting 80 hours a week in over 7 days.

Also have a retirement check comming in every month from my first job I had and worked for 31 years.

I spend close to $300/ month on diapers and if needed I’d pickup a 3rd job on the weekends.

I change 60 to 70 diapers a week … the “7 year old” orders diapers by the case.

Roughly $450 to $600 per month

I don’t wear too often. Actually I probably wear my Rearz training pants more often than I do diapers. I wear them like shorts over my underwear so they don’t get yucky too fast. When I buy cases, they last years. So I don’t spend a whole ton on the lifestyle. I used to buy lots of toys and stuff but after a recent move I just don’t have the space any more. I don’t make a ton of money, but I don’t live beyond my means either and put away every bit I can. I’ll only buy ABDL stuff if it won’t make a significant dent in my savings. Hard to say how much I spend. I guess in the past year I’ve spent probably under $150

It’s great to hear that most people seem to have a good way to continue purchasing their diapers. For me my diapers are more of a want vs need and while I have plenty of money to support my family and buy the occasional bag of diapers, I wanted to see what some people do to get a little extra play money.

Im not looking for a second full time job, but maybe little things that can earn some extra cash. I’ve heard of secret shoppers and online surveys, but what else is there?

Has anyone turned their hobby into extra income?

I think that you have a point, it’s a matter of each person deciding on what are their needs vs wants. I’ve never had to have multiple jobs to just take care of the necessities, but I know others who have. Before we had our first child my wife worked because she wanted to and that money was extra money was more for our bigger wants. Once we had our first child she quit working to be a stay at home mother, this was her decision. But because her job was just extra cash we didn’t run into any financial problems. Besides her check would have just paid for child care so win-win o our part.

I don’t do anything to increase income for the sake of diapers, but I do tend to order by the case and split the case with friends. That way I’m not stuck wearing the same kind of diaper for 2 months but still get the reduced costs.

I also keep multiple different diapers around at different price ranges so I can use the right diaper for the right thing. e.g. if I just want to mess around with one for an hour or two, I’m going to pick a $.50 m4 over a $2.50 MegaMax
