Crinklz pictures

Pictures of the new Crinklz ABDL/DF/BF diapers are few and far between it seems, but Rearz did get a good video up on youtube. Some people in the chat requested pics but there was almost nothing to link to, and videos don’t work so well for everyone, so I got busy with some screengrabs from the video and am uploading them here.

I can’t understand why Rearz has almost no product pictures on their storefront!

http://www.adisc.org/forum/album.php?albumid=1701

Rearz says the diaper was based on the comficare, and it looks pretty identical on the padding layout, so I’m guessing it basically IS a comficare with a different shell and tape panel.

I also included one shot from ABDLFactory (where you can also buy Crinklz from) that shows the diaper on a model. I did this to illustrate what I see as the only “thing I’d change” - the tape panel has its own art on it, and is transparent, so it overlays on the all-over-the-shell artwork, and IMHO, makes a confusing mess. They need to just go with a transparent tape panel with no print on it (like Cushies does), OR make the tape NOT be transparent. The way it is now, it’s two images overlaid on top of each other and looks pretty messed up.

Oh, and the video, the sound on it.. assuming they didn’t mess with the mic gain, “Crinklz” is going to live up to its name. You can hear these things from a mile away I bet.

They’re expensive, but it’s in CA$, so buyers in the USA will see a significant drop when they go to actually ring up at the check-out. They also have a flat $25 shipping, so if you want to go wild and get several cases, it ALL ships for a total of $25. (CA$, so a fair bit less than that actually) Their case quantities are pretty small though, only three bags of 10 per case. (30 diapers)

I also noticed in the “inside full” shot, the top leak guard seems to have some padding that is UNDER the leak guard. I seem to recall hearing someone mention this problem before. That’s a bit of a design defect. I don’t know if it’s on one, a few, or all of them. Guess I will find out. (I bought some!)

$43 for 12 is just insanely expensive, i would never buy them although they do look kinda cool. Im not poor, but spending $3.5 on a single diaper is just a bit much $120 for a pack of 38 crinklz then ad on some ridiculous shipping charge, or 80$ for 48 bambino’s with free shipping… i think ill stick to bambinos, crinklz is just pure highway robbery for no reason other than they can. Also what are CA$?

CA$ is Canadian dollar, still at $35 USD, its still pretty pricey. I’d never buy diapers that are that expensive, its why I don’t do aww so cute ones either.

Bambinod, when you get these can you do a short review on them? I’ve tried the Comficares and really like them, I’m wondering if the plastic outer is going to be the same as the original? These sound very loud in the video clip I’ve seen, if they are the same as when comficare first came out a few years back they will be awesome!! I do love crinkly nappies!

Yeah I can do a quickie review on them. I actually splurged a little on them, got two “cases” (their idea of a “case” is 3 bags of 10…) to try, since I’ve tried the comficare and know they’re a good fitting/performing diaper. Quite expensive, but this is exactly the kind of thing we should be supporting. Niche products like Snuggies and Cuddlz can’t survive and grow without strong support from their small customer base. Prices will come down, but startup is expensive, and these groups rely on early adopters and early support to get off the ground. If you like their product, don’t say “I’ll hold off until prices come down”, because if you do, they won’t last long enough for prices to come down, and we’ll lose a good thing.

Also… It turns out that something of a celebrity in our circle is the artist for the diapers and the packaging. They were both done by Marci  Give out the kudos!

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16533947

Marci is probably best known for doing so many furry/babyfur/diaperfur avatar commissions around these parts. I thought I recognized the work, but it was just differet enough to throw me, although a number of people more familiar with Marci’s art recognized it. NDAs prevented Marci’s disclosure until product release. I wonder if the diapers or packaging are signed anywhere to give credit where credit is due?

I personally don’t think anyone else could have done a better job. Marci’s art is well known for being good quality, and having talent with a wide variety of different animals. (TaviMunk would have been a 2nd consideration for me, but his art can’t match Marci’s variety)

I don’t think there was much of a question it was done by Marci - or at the very least by someone who’s style was quite heavily copied from influenced by Marci. I saw a couple of people wonder aloud if the art wasn’t stolen and it’s nice to see confirmation that everything was indeed on the up and up on that front.

I’m not a super big fan of the design (they don’t look all that good when they are tapped up IMO) but it’s pretty neat to see a babyfur diaper being made. Marci doing the design is just sort of fitting.

…how long until Marci has to make a post asking people to please not ask her sign one of their diapers?

Over/under 1.5 con appearances? Bets can be placed in imaginary internet points.

It’s really not worth it for a custom printed diaper, all over permits rarely work and these will be no different. Instead of getting smudged designs, just print off some tapes and adhere them with packing tape.

Pretty good looking but the price is insane.

I’ll give you that, still from seeing the pictures I would want some, still I have no money considering I’m a college student who lives with his grandmother, and has no job. Still I’d buy it.

Well startups are expensive. Money doesn’t fall from the sky. It’s the early adopters that float a company long enough to get off the ground, and then prices can come down. But if nobody is willing to help them get started, they will fail, and then you will never have the opportunity later.

I’m not berating you for your choice, if you can’t afford it that’s ok, but it’s important for the others that can afford it to realize that everyone is depending on them. So support them if you can, so we can all enjoy them later when they are a success.

I think that this is just such an awesome thing they’re doing, that they’re worthy of our strong support. (these and Snuggies, support them instead if Cuddlz is a little too much for you right now)

I don’t know what you’re talking about… I’ve literally only known /one/ printed diaper rub off/get smudged, and that was the cheapy/Fabine rip-off ‘MyDiaper’. Every other printed diaper I’ve tried (Aww So Cute, Cuddlz, Snuggies and one Cushie) has kept its designs just fine. Is this random speculation, or are other people actually finding the designs on most all over printed diapers smudging?

Anyway, I’m definitely buying some of these new Crinklz. They seem to be cheaper from ABDLFactory/in Europe, which I am definitely not complaining about at all. I can get a ‘case’ (only 30 diapers, but still!) for just under £50, including shipping. Which is like. Pretty expensive, but not anywhere near as much as they are across the pond.

edit: actually, looking it up reveals that 30 Crinklz are about as much as 30 Cuddlz, so that’s cool.

Well these guys are a smaller company, so their less likely to have access to high quality printing machines. Still, slapping some most likely stollen art onto a diaper is never gonna justify the price. I was personally never a fan of Marci and I’m still not, I’m not one for drawing stuff you don’t like for a quick buck, I want to feel the connection with the field of medium and interest.

The artwork on Crinklz is legitimate, not stolen. From the artist herself: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16533947/

Yeah. I was surprised Marci did this. But she seemed pretty happy with designing a diaper & packaging for it.

FWIW, I’m neither a babyfur nor a diaperfur. (I’m not even AB, just plain 'ol DL here!) Keep in mind that they’re forging new territory. Even if they’re not specifically making something ideal for you, it’s a step in the right direction, and they’re the high quality we all wish we’d see more of. We have very little in the way of options for DL’ish diapers. Maybe in a year they’ll come out with a different pattern (AB or sissy?) that you really like. But that’ll only happen if their business is a success and grows.

Help however you can… buy their products, spread the word, or just plain email them some kudos

I like how you all are thinking badly about a diaper you have never tryed before because of somthing that has a high price to it.

Here’s the facts: The price is very well justified. I talked with a few people who allready have the Crinklz diapers and sent me a few pictures of them. All of them report that this diaper is better then any other diaper they have tryed before. One guy said that this diaper absorbs more then the Dry 24/7 does. It has a slighly thicker core then the Bambino Bellissimos and wicks better. Also has more absorbancy. You can tell this was made for Adult Babys and Diaper lovers because everything else Comficare has doesn’t even compare to this diaper.

I live in Nor Cal region and I would pay 60 bucks with shipping included for 12 diapers. For diapers that hold very close to one gallon for mediums, all around prints like that you normally see on baby diapers and just how the diaper was designed is different. This is a step in the right direction and somthing that has never been done before.

Just stop with the dissing, these hold close to one gallon. Its fair to say that 40 US bucks for 12 diapers is fair price for one gallon absorbancy diapers.

I pre-ordered a couple cases of Crinklz and they arrived this week. They are thicker and heavier than Bellissimos, weighing in at 210g each (compare to 195g for my latest batch of Bellissimo). Both are size medium.

I think part of the cost of Crinklz is the fact that they are imported from Europe to Canada (Rearz), then shipped again to the U.S. Rates of currency conversion, shipping, it all adds up.

Crinklz is based on Comficare (a newer diaper, from Germany). I have used Comficare too, and they are functionally identical to Crinklz. It is also very expensive to buy Comficare in the U.S.; Rearz is the only redistributer I know of in North America that will ship to the U.S. The only other option is getting them directly from Europe in smaller quantities than what Rearz can import, which is even less cost effective when it comes to shipping.

FWIW, I purchased 2 cases of Crinklz (60 diapers) from Rearz, paid $204.82 including shipping, for a final cost of $3.41/diaper. Pricey to be sure, when the somewhat lesser-performing (but still excellent) Bellissimo can be had for $1.95/diaper.

However, Crinklz is a niche product, high quality, and adorable. If the price is too steep, don’t buy, but don’t bash the company or product–especially without trying it. Also, after test running these diapers–the prints do NOT smudge or rub off. Top quality, all around.

I was just trying to link someone in chat to them but all the product links to Crinklz are 404’ing on me, and they’re not listed under disposable products anymore. The only place Crinklz are showing up right now is in their “variety case”. I hadn’t seen that before - and several of their other pages are being weird and not filling in images etc. I assume they’re doing a web page update today and the Crinklz are just being shuffled around a bit.

Or they got bombarded with orders and are about out of their first shipment and had to remove the order links to save their remaining inventory for mixed cases…
