Cloth Diaper Options-Who has tried Pocket Diapers?

Hi,

I am looking for some good cloth diaper options because I like the bulk and tightness you can get in a cloth diaper. I have noticed the rising popularity of cloth pocket diapers, commonly used for babies. They seem to be absorbent and bulky, and come in cute designs. Just wondering what others have experienced.

I’ve also wanted to try cloth diapers for comfort and for something different however biggest issue I’ve noticed (AUS) over here anyway. A lot of the cloth diapers aren’t water proof and id rather not wear plastic pants with a cloth diapers as well as pants especially if it’s public! They’re a few that are “PU waterproof” but they’re a good 50$ witch is a pack of Abu dry kids!

I’ve used pocket nappies from nappiesrus in the UK, they are made in China so I assume are commonly available. Personally I find them generally very good, discrete and comfortable to wear. Use with a couple of soakers and I’ve never had problems, would still recommend using plastic pants, especially an night, just for added protection

I used to find ordinary nappies leaked, at night and offer poor side protection - not had a problem with pocket nappies so far. I would not go back and prefer them to disposables.

I use threaded armor exclusively for my cloth diapers they have flexible Absorbency and you can make them as thick as you want they have plain and fun prints but they are pull on style

Never tried one but i read the waterproof outer material is sewn to an inner stay dry material so i guess its very much absorbent.

I use pocket diapers every night with 4 or more bambus inserts with additional latex waterproof pants. Quick drying after washing.

You can find a good selection here. I have never tried their cloth diapers but their onesies are second to non. Nice company to deal with

I have four of their pull up style diapers and they are wonderful, thick and absorbent. I also have several of their plastic pants and three pairs of rubber pants too. The quality of their products are first rate. I do have one of their hook and loop closing style diapers but this is from many years back when they had no way to protect the hook and loop area while washing. The result was it caught on other things in the wash and also filled the hooks with lint. Now I believe they have a flap that closes over for washing.

I have one pocket diaper but I don’t find it any good for night time as it is more bikini style on me with not much coverage at the back. It would be OK for daytime use if a thick pad was good enough for my needs.

I recently ordered a Rearz Rebel pocket diaper, it has buttons, tonnes of buttons.

Unless you want the full experience I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you look for a pocket diaper that uses velcro. Like this one which is currently on sale, damn I might have to get one https://rearz.ca/dinosaur-luxury-adult-pocket-diaper/

I always seemed to leak through my right thigh/leg and because I hide my DL I always have to quickly wash and dry the cover and inserts. I do like how comfortable and puffy they are!

I also ordered this all in one diaper, its crazy comfy and more reliable than the pocket diaper I have. https://superundies.com/collections/bigger-sizes-nighttime-undies

I mean just look at that fleece trim!!!

I have pocket diapers, use with 2 inserts in the daytime, no company over…

i’m ic, but still hate having to explain the whole deal…

The pocket diapers work as good as the insert is…

as for overnight…wear a disposable…too many inserts needed for me to get comfortable at night

Could try making some as there seems to be many patterns online. Probably would take some time but you could make something to your fit and aesthetic choice. You do have Ecoable which seem to have a tight fitting one by the looks of it.

I’d hope so lol. Personally always felt they probably work better as pure covers over disposables.

Pocket diapers are very low capacity … they are not good for my incontinence.

The last one I tried overflowed pretty quickly.

Hi,

I’ve been considering pocket nappies as an easier to use alternative to terry nappies, and was interested to hear about your experience with side protection. I’m a side sleeper, and so this is a real problem for me. What’s the coverage like on the ones available from nappiesrus? What are the soakers you use made of? I hope you don’t mind my asking!

Thanks!
