cloth diaper help

hi so I have some rectangle pre fold cloth diapers from Rearz one L two XL.

How do you guys fold them and then pin them on? I looked up online all the ways to fold but they are either too complicated or too thick by the time its done. can you post any photos of how yours look or some links?

Also, I’ve heard that many people use Snappies toddler size but I have the suspicion that they won’t be as strong as pins are and will fall off. how secure are they? why do you trust/use them?

Try here. I usually use the newspaper fold for day and for night the same but folding it down in the back. The jelly roll works ok but I always find myself going back to the newspaper fold.

after you have it fastened you just have to tuck in the excess and out your cover on. Wether it’s a shell or plastic pants.

As for your other question I’ve just started using “boingos” and they seem to hold ok and are easier to put on than pins. Although be careful of the teeth. I did find the boingos are a one size but are pretty big. Going to play with them some more as I’ve just got them yesterday.

currently I use the angel fold but the newspaper fold seems like the padding is uneven when I would sit down.

I use,

That’s olde Pampers, which used to be square or oblong-ish, but the same fold works on cloth.

It creates a central channel for capture and the padding at the sides, rather than in the centre, avoids pressure on the perineum when sat.

I use mini-bungees for fastening; one across the front, grabbing the wrapped around back portions, works okay, but you can be as elaborate as you wish with more bungees.

I’ve been trying the twist fold lately, just for a change, but it isn’t as comfy my usual fold, when sat, for the pressure upon the perineum problem.

A VA nurse showed the other nurses that learning how to cloth diaper adult patients. It seems that so many people can only use disposables now a days. I use the kite style by folding the front in toward the front center soaker pulling it between my legs then spreading the front so you can pin the diaper on each side. I learned from her while I was a quad and when I was able to use my arms again that is the style I like and works very well.

Yes, but how did you fold it from a giant rectangle to an hourglass?

It’s not an hourglass, it’s just got the ends splayed out for demonstrative purposes.

The fold (I can’t remember if it’s got a name nor if it’s demonstrated elsewhere, but it is a traditional nappy fold for toddlers and children), when looked at from the end, looks like this:

Having difficulty adding to my last (cursor placing), but just adding a couple of photos which I’d forgotten that I had in my photo album:

That’s what my Asda bathsheet, 800+gsm, looks like when folded into a 100cm by 75cm oblong and then folded to the specification described above.

Mini-bungees (while I’m here):

The top one has been sharpened, for ease of penetration, and further bent inward for security. The bottom one is as they come when bought.
