Any recommendations for mattress/bed protection?

I’m wondering if someone could recommend a mattress or bed protector. My last one worked great being all plastic apart from it would often make me too warm during the night. Ideally I’m looking for something breathable but 100% waterproof (or as close as possible), either a topper or a sheet style or even a fully encapsulated type. I also need something which will accommodate a deep mattress and be deliverable to the UK.

I’ve tried Amazon but despite good ratings a lot of the reviews are really mixed with some not being protective enough and others not being deep enough.

So I’d appreciate any recommendations you may have.

They have a cloth mattress protector, I have one on my bed under my plastic sheet and I use goodntes bedmats along with my night time diapers

I have a plastic fitted sheet with a mattress cover that zips over the whole mattress that way I’m fully protected

Same for me, it can become a bit warm but luckily I can sleep with just a thin top sheet and that takes away most of the heat from around my body. That and I am use to the heat / plastic mattress cover based on the first 12 years of my life, 4 years of college, and then about 22 years since and to today!

I hear there are cloth based protective covers that are less heat trapping and based on my PUL pp I believe they would work the same.

They even make water proof mattress protectors in King size.

I’ve got this one from John Lewis: https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewi…aterproof-quilted-mattress-protector/p1743079

It doesn’t feel much different to a normal mattress protector, and seems well made - we bought ours about three years ago and it still looks like new. The cheaper waterproof towelling one is more noisy and felt hotter (I used to have that one too before switching to the one above). It’s not especially cheap, but definitely worth it.

Ive got a mattress protector with cloth on one side and pvc on the other, but I sleep on the cloth side because the pvc is too cold in the winter and too warm in the summer. Granted it gets wet if I leak but at least the mattress is protected.

If I know for sure (from drinking more fluids) I’ll leak I either put on plastic pants as well or a disposable bed mat.

The one I got now is pretty cool, I can’t remember the brand though.

My wife picked up mine, so I don’t know which one. I just know it is a pvc one with a nicer cloth one on top of it. Think she bought both from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I use goodnites bedmats , come to think of it i still had it on my bed at 18 back then lol

i have a matress that is fully “wrapped” in plastic.. it’s a hospital kind.. that way i can choose any sheets i like
