Am I overreacting?

Hi guys,

So I have a disability called cerebral palsy and I use a wheelchair to get around in public. Over the past year, I have been accepting more assistance with activities of daily living and I have felt much better because of it. However, I had this feeling inside of me that I should wear briefs in public. The reason for this is because I have had a few close calls in public bathrooms because the handicap stall/restroom was occupied. Ever since doing this, I have felt like it is the right thing to do and I feel more confident but it feels weird because I don’t absolutely need it 100%

I guess what I’m asking is if I’m being overreactive or if it’s better to be safe than sorry?

I’d wear diapers. Definitely better safe than sorry if you’re at the razor’s edge for accidents in-public. Just my .000002 Bitcoin.

Lots of people here wear just for the emotional comfort diapers or disposable briefs can give.

Maybe ask yourself why not wear a disposable brief in public, you are not hurting anyone and its very difficult to tell if someone is diapered under their clothes.

You’re not the only person here with CP that wears briefs either because of functional or practical use, I am aware it’s annoying if you desperatly need to go and cannot, so +1 vote to wear them!

I have CP and wear diapers in public. I am quasi continent with meds and catheters, but ALLWAYS wear a diaper when I am not 100% sure about the bathroom situation.

Removing the stress of am I going to make it to the bathroom is worth wearing a taped diaper, and theres no shame in needing to. Even if you do not use your diaper its done its job in giving you the comfort of knowing your protected as a just incase when my IC issue first started I was dry more often then not but my stress was reduced when I was rushing to the bathroom as I knew I was protected incase I failed to make it in time.

So no your not being over reactive about wearing a diaper as a just incase even if you change out of a dry diaper when you get home its done its job in reliving your stress about your bladder issue.

I don’t think you’re being at all overreactive but taking care of your comfort under every situation.

I have cerebral palsy, wheelchair user too. I have full control, but I do wear diapers in public. I’m more relaxed, I don’t have to use a public restroom, and the best part, I can pee whenever I want, I don’t have to hold it. At home, when I’m Katie, not very often, but I wear JUST a diaper and T-shirt to be in “little” mode I don’t pee in it, but I’m a total baby. I play with my baby toys, suck my pacifier, be mommy to my baby doll, eat baby food and take my bottle. My cerebral palsy just go’s away. Not that I don’t want it, but it’s an escape. Glad we met, hope this helps

Thank you guys for all the responses! It makes me feel better knowing that I am not the only one who feels this way. I’m usually dry but it definitely feels better wearing one. Hopefully I can get accustomed to it eventually
