Alternative to Gerry wear?

Gary Wear diaper covers are the most comfortable I’ve tried. However, last night I had the second of 3 pairs leak on me. Sad part is they aren’t really that old. In both cases, they have leaked on one of the side seams.

Now the question is, where do I go from here? I have a couple pair of PVC pants, but as many of you know oh, they are quite hot and the leg and waist elastic feel like they are cutting into my skin. I’m hoping you guys might have some recommendations of something else to try. I am a bed-wetter and primarily need them for night time. Of note, I’m 5’ 9" and 250 lb. For reference, the typically wear large size disposable diapers.

Thanks!

I use the Gary Active Wear diaper cover over my daytime diapers all the time. I have not experienced any issues with them yet. When I go to bed, I use a Babykins Terry lined PUL diaper cover. The Terry lining obsorbs any leaks if I totally flood my diaper while sleeping. You might want to check into the Babykins diaper covers for overnight use. They are very high quality and very reasonably priced.

I like my Klinerts Duralite pants, not too hot, very water proof, seem to last pretty long. I only wash them when they get wet.

I couldnt help but notice your post about Duralite pants. I have those and they are so light and very roomy in size. They also have a nice little crinkle to them…I like them.

hmm, I wonder if they are the same ones. Klinerts makes two pants. Duralite and Staydry. The duralite are like a nylon pant with a polyethylene coating. They are very very quiet. The stay dry are coated with a heavier PVC coating. The are a little heavier, and louder. They also have that “PVC Smell”, which some people may like. The other difference is the cut. The stay dry has a wider crotch, which would accommodate a bigger diaper I think, but both seem wide enough for me.

I definitely like the duralite in the summer. Pretty breathable.

Ah, yes. Baby pants manufacturers ALL grossly undersize their products. At 250lbs you surely need 3xl or larger. If you guess wrong and the leg openings are too loose just hand sew (or use diaper pins) the elastic back on itself to snug up the fit. Do the overlap in the back because NO baby pants manufacturer’s leg openings that I know of in USA are placed far enough forward, with perhaps the exception of Gary.

The best baby pants material is PEVA, a new type of plastic that is absolutely impervious to insults. It’s actually almost difficult to properly stain them! And they are way crinkly, especially when new.

They will last at least 10 times longer than vinyl pants. You’ll use and abuse them forever. Nothing else comes remotely close to a dozen seriously poofy PEVA baby pants when it comes to pretty much permanently providing a pottypants with proper protection. Years from now you’ll be pondering whether to throw out that ooooolllllddddd pair with several little rips and holes…

Babypants.com (or is it baby-pants.com?) is the only place I know that carries PEVA. Their tag, proudly placed on the outside, sports a crawling baby and “Baby Pants” to ensure that everyone who sees it knows exactly why you’re in diapers. They carry white, translucent, and a jungle print on translucent. The print will fade and degrade, just like any :poop: stains if you don’t keep doing your doody.

I wear Kleinert’s duralite also and they are very comfortable for summer wear. The best baby pants I have worn.

I’ve tried baby pants piva, I actually have two pair. I do like the material, but the elastic letter/waist band dogs into my skin.

The kleinert brand looks interesting I think I’ll try those next…
