All-in-one Cloth Diaper Recommendation

Hello ADISC all!!

I’m looking into possibly getting 1 or 2 cloth diapers and 1 or 2 training pants.

I’m looking for one that would be able to hold in fluid without the use of plastic pants. I wear 24/7 at home, work and with my immediate family but when I go to in-laws or to my mother’s house wearing diapers is touchy at best. I haven’t had any issues yet wearing at the in-law but I do not wear around my mother as the argument isn’t worth it.

I’m looking for something comfortable, capable of holding at least 3000ml, will not require the use of additional protection of plastic pants, inserts or no inserts (either is ok)

If anyone has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

Super Undies all in one with an added step up insert and a soaker bomb have worked realllllllly well for me!!! I freaking love them!

If you want 3000ml you will need boosters or a tone of inserts. I can wet 2 or 3 times with the step up and bomb.

My jeans are size 33-34 and the medium fit great!

But at the end of the day you’re stuck with a big soaking AIO diaper you need to wash or hide, at least with a a disposable you can roll it up tight and dispose of it.

Ive used the rearz pocket diaper with cloth inserts and I’m not a big fan…

I hate to burst your bubble, but a 3000mL AIO is a mythical beast. Expect to get a couple of pees into an AIO and then change, even with pads. There’s just not a lot of material there, and cloth doesn’t lock anything in. If you soak an AIO and then sit down, you’ll leak.

AIOs are great around the house if you have a good stash of them. I’ve got a few DependEco diapers and a couple of DideeQueen diapers. They’re cute and fun–and functional, but only if you work within their limits and count on changing frequently. (I mostly wear the old-school pin-on cloth diapers, and with those you can go a little longer.)

Thank you both. Since being 24/7 for almost a year I’m noticing an increase of urge when not using, so I’m looking into something I can wear that I can use a little bit and not have to go to the bathroom 6 times in the 3-4 hours I’m with my mother. Since my mom has a pool in her back yard we often take the kids swimming in the summer so a disposable is not an option. It would be nice to find something that would be usable but not for prolonged use but could with stand about 3-4 hours of use without needing to be changed. Since I do have 2 in diapers still I could possible put a change in their diaper bag and if a change is necessary with the AIO I could. Just looking for something that is practicable for extended wear/use, is not noisy, and not 100% obvious it’s a diaper at a quick glance.

If you’re looking to go in the pool with it, you’d need a swim diaper, however, swim diapers are only for bowel containment, not urinary.

Thank you, but no, I don’t need while in the pool just while I’m at my mothers and MIL’s houses.

Then you might consider those Superundies (same as Threaded Armor) that neophyte referenced above. If discreteness is a concern, those are some of the least diapery in appearance. Balancing discreteness with function is difficult with cloth diapers, though. Sans the super-absorbent materials found in disposables, bulk = performance.

Okay, so, the thing is, the more stuck together your layers are, the longer they’ll take to dry, like, frustratingly, annoyingly longer. Also, all in ones can wick where the cover is sewn to the absorbency, specifically because it’s sewn to the absorbency. Plastic pants needn’t be plastic anymore, either. Polyurethane Laminate is more modern. PUL pants don’t have to pull, on and off, either. They can come open same as diapers. Sheepies got a new cloth cover to go over her disposables, and it looks just little a diaper, without guts or very many bones. Sorry if that’s morbid. Hopefully you get the point.

Personally, anything less than 2 peices, and I’d be asking for drying trouble. Anything more than 2 peices, and I’d be asking for forgetfulness of parts trouble.

You could use try adding snaps or velcro to prefolds, with a cover over top of that, or you could make yourself an AI2, as long as you promise not to steal my design. :hugging:
