I am new to this but have often wondered if you can get adult sized baby car seats i have always fantasised about being strapped into one and not being able to escape from it until my "parent "let me out of it. does anyone know if you can buy this type of seat or if there are any types of harnesses available to buy.or would it be possible to have one made
Where is this from
I would guess that largely depends on your height, and possibly weight as well, but mainly your height.
There are adult sized “car seats” for special needs but I would guess they are not cheap.
That is one of my fantazy too, same for stroller (or pushchair since I think you are from UK) and potentially high chair, there is some high chairs made for adults babies, but they have absolutely nothing appealing to me compared to the ones made for babies and toddlers of today. For the carseat, I would say the closest you could probably get is a racing seat with a racing harness, but be careful, I don’t think they can be used on the road for real, they are made for race circuits only, and those seats and harness can be quite expensive price wise.
I like the sound of the high chair too i have had fantasies about being restrained in child restraints for a long time hopefully be able to get some ideas now
I want one of these do you know where I can get one from please
Just be aware that thoses special needs carseats come with a big price tag, around 4700$ for a base model I’ve seen and its a basic one, their prices are high because usually someone that needs it will get a full or partial refund from insurances companies. And also the material cost to make such seats safe even for adults can be quite more expensive than a regular toddler/baby carseat.
I got my son and nephew one each for $1200 and just basic is for $999
The Roosevelt Child Safety Car Seat is now for $839 and you can find it at
How tall are you and what do you weigh? Not asking to know, I’m asking so you’ll know you have to think about it. The Columbia Medical Spirit APS, or the Convaid Carrot 3 BOOSTER, might work. The Carrot 3 Special Needs Child Restraint System is too small. The Special Tomato MPS might work too, but only to 5 foot 2 inches, if you wanna be legal. I’d personally check out the basic Spirit, which goes to 5 foot 6 inches tall, and 130 pounds, or the Carrot 3 booster, which goes to 5 foot 9 inches, and 165 poubds. Don’t worry. The Carrot 3 booster has a harness, but only for posture, so the lap shoulder belt goes on as normal, over it, I think. There’s the EZ ON 86Y. It’s just a harness, but goes to 168 pounds.
I haven’t thought much about this before, but your post made me think about racing car seats and harnesses that might actually be less than what others have posted about special needs harnesses and seats.
for instance, take a look at the link here.

Wow, only 100$ for the harness, now I need a seat, something tells me that seat that can fit the harness on will be more expensive, but if I bolt the seat down onto a chair of somekind. I may have found something good for me.
I have the Columbia Spirit 2400 and I’m 6’1" just a tad bit big for it. I paid I want to say 450 from a guy on Craigslist.
Now I want a car seat!
Anyine know what kind of seat is in that picture?
OMG.. I’m just starting to explore my little side. That picture of the adult car seat is triggering some deep emotional need. Wow I really want to ride in a car seat like that!
So,
I’d love a good supportive carseat, my back kills in the car after a bit, end up lying down or something which isnt very safe either.
on the columbia what was just a bit too small? i’m 5’11.5" and like 205# now.
Someone should make a carseat like the carrot or something with good side support pommel etc…just for positioning…can still wear regular seatbelt over the top for liability.
I’ve been thinking of getting a harness (they make one for lying down) possibly for longer trips.
The shoulder belt holes are just about 2 inches to low for me to properly fit it. The width of the seat fits me just fine just not the shoulder belts.
23.5 inch is the highest slot for the shoulder belt.
This is actually really cute. I can’t say I’ve really ever wanted a car seat; this picture has changed my mind.
I have an ABDL ready car seat available for someone who might want to have one for playtime fun. I am 5’10, and can comfortably sit in it, and be strapped in, with the 5 point harness. It can be used in the car as well, but only up to 130#.
Model is a Columbia Car Seat.
It is red & black, has a 18" wide seat, and tall back. Manufactured on 2016.
Asking $150, open to offers. Pick up in St Paul, MN, or pay shipping. Seat weighs approx 25lbs, and is fairly large. Shipping would be at buyers expense.
Buy a racing harness from amazon. take the top two and tie them into the top cat anchor and the bottom straps to the bottom anchors. i watch a youtube channel and their daughter has autism and that’s what they do for her. You could try something like this.
