ABU Thoughts

I’ve never been a big fan of ABU. I tried their space, preschool, dinorawrz and pawz diapers, and while I liked the space, the capacity was nothing special. The preschool was horrible, cloth backing was stiff and uncomfortable and had practically no capacity. I was expecting pawz to be very good, but it leaked after one wetting because the fit wasn’t right for me. I didn’t even expect to try peekabu, but I did end up getting one just to see, because there’s a lot of hype.

All I can say is wow. The diaper was super absorbant, thick, squishy, and amazing. It also felt very high quality, unlike the dinorawrz which felt kind of cheap. This has changed my mind on ABU, I now eagerly await what else they release and will definitely buy some more peekabu, even though the print isn’t my favorite, because they were so fun and high quality.

Side question, has anyone tried the new 4 tape kiddos? Im a medium, and thinking about trying, because they’re so cute, but I’d like to know where they sit in the lineup in terms of capacity.

Unless they’ve changed them in the last batch, they are pretty much a sdk. Nothing to get excited about for capacity, but they will hold a couple settings without worry

but, as with any diaper it’s usually more about the fit than it’s theoretical capacity. You’d have to try them and see how they fit you

ABU Pawz is my preferred diaper. They are large, soft and poofy and I could wear one two days and still have capacity left, but it would stink too bad long before that.

I don’t have any trouble with them, if I could dream, I’d never go without one.

I find it interesting that you find the capacity lacking, to me a diaper is at capacity when I’ve soaked every part of the diaper, front and back. I wore one on my trip last year, between Chinle, AZ - monument valley - Antonito CO, so about 12 hours I drank about 2x my normal amount and still had space in front for more.

Its possible your using a size too small, I go with large though its much larger then I need, so there is that extra capacity.

I like ABU as a company these days. It’s a total 180 from ABU under the previous ownership. I’d really like to see them get a bit more adventurous with their designs, though. I know that’s easier said than done, very expensive, etc., so I’m not exactly complaining, but… C’mon, how many more prints do we need? Let’s see some variations in the basic construction of the diaper–stretchy sides, a cloth-backed option with one hook-and-loop tab per side, Pampers Absorb Channels ™…

(Just kidding about the Absorb Channels thing.)

Of their current offerings, I suppose I prefer the two-tape Kiddos. They’re a good fit for my body shape, and wear very securely.

hands down my go to diaper those and rearz work great for me , there are a few abu i stay away that will not work for me like the one single tape per side of those clothbacked one as zero elastic waisteband is a big no for me ,

See for me I love ABU, as they are: comfortable, nice cute prints, medium capacity meaning I get changed a lots by mummy and I don’t feel obliged to stay in it all day cause I want it to be soaked before taking it off.

my favourites are Kiddos or SDKs they are like classic pampers and modern pampers styles in two take adult form and for me that rocks!

then most preferred event/play date diapee is cloth backed pre-school these remind me of the transition design pampers that had cloth shell but sticky panel on the front still and they have variety and capacity is achievable during an event so a change is possible which is lush

The Dinorawrz are supposed to be the same shell as PeekAbu but with different visuals. So theoretically it should be just the same as PeekABU for you.

I don’t like all of ABU’s designs, but I think they have done amazingly well as a company. I remember when they literally just had SDKs and Cushies, and it cost a fortune to get them imported to my country. Now they have lots of designs, great customer service and they have branches in the UK, EU etc. They are great as a company.

ABU Bunny Hops are a great designed 1-tab velcro diaper ( and they are a bit big, which is nice )
